On Your Tail: All Mysteries Guide

This guide is to provide a list of all fifteen mystery games, along with their solutions. Spoilers are inevitable!

 

Introduction

Mysteries are the main storyline for the game; as such, seeking out and completing them will reward the player with new areas to visit and additional character interactions. Diana collects clues for each mystery either by talking to other characters or by using her Chronolens to find clues in the area. The only two mystery games which do not require any clues are the final two. Once enough clues have been gathered, the deduction phase begins.

The overall appearance of the mystery solving game is that of a board game, with characters represented as pawns and actions represented by playing cards. Some levels have gimmicks unique to them, but the overall goal is the same: use the right combination of cards in the right order to reveal what happened at a crime scene. From “Accuse the Major” onward, two cards can be used in combination to form one new card. There will also be goals for each mystery shown at the top left at all times, which will be checked off so long as the player uses the right cards.

The results screen, whether the player wins or loses, will display the cards the player used and the order in which they played them. Correct cards are highlighted in green, making it easier to discern what the correct combination is through process of elimination.

In this guide, I will be sharing the correct combination of cards to solve each mystery. Due to the nature of this, spoilers for the game’s various twists are inevitable. You have been warned!
