WEBFISHING: How to Mod the Game with Thunderstore

First thing you should do is go to the official Thunderstore website which is thunderstore.io not com, not net, but io.

Click on the small green button called “Get App” in the top right of the page

This will take you to another page by Overwolf since Thunderstore and Overwolf are partnered. Press “Download On Overwolf” and go through the setup process.

Double click on the downloaded Overwolf program and it will start the process.
Just uncheck Curseforge and press next when prompted. Curseforge is used for minecraft, and other games mods, not Webfishing.

Now press launch and it should load up the Thunderstore client all by itself. If it doesnt launch after a minute or so then type in the Windows searchbar “Thunderstore” and start it from there.

Now you should have the Thunderstore Client on your screen. Type in the searchbar “WEBFISHING” and it should pop up.

Now hover over Webfishing and press “Select Game” and it should take you to your profile selection screen. Press “Create New” and name your custom mod profile, you could also press “Import/Update to import your friends profile. It will then show on your profile list.

Click on your newly made profile and press “Select Profile”, you will now see all the mods you have, which is hopefully zero. Go to “Get Mods” and there you can choose any mod you want to add to your mod profile. The 2 mods you NEED to even mod the game are the 2 pinned mods “LureRefreshed” and “GDWeave”
To download your selected mod. You click on the mod, and press download… Thats it. Then just press the blue “Modded” button up in the corner and your set.

I will list off every mod that helps (In my opinion) the vanilla experience to be better. Any mods that i dont list here but add themselves automaticly into your mod folder are mods needed for the mods to work.

Chatwhilefishing: Lets you (as the title says) chat while fishing. That means while your reeling in a fish or holding a fish you just caught, it will lets you chat with players.

Calico: an fps mod that gives ani-lag improvements and client optimization

Inventory_Tweaks: Gives QOL features like keyboard navigation

TunaGuitar: Adds extra QOL features to guitars like chord presets

Cleanchat: makes the chat cleaner

Cozy_Cassettes: Lets you have a boombox with your own music

BetterFireplace: adds crackling fire sounds to the Fireplace prop

ShowClicks: Shows how many times you need to click when reeling in a fish

More_Hotbar_slots: Adds 5 additional hotbar slots

Colorful_Menus: Lets you customize the colours of the in-game menus

BrandiisMusic: Adds Brandiis fanmade Webfishing album to the game. Aka additional background music

SmoothCam: Makes the camera smoother

EventAlert: Alerts you when a specific event happens, such as rainclouds.

MoreControls: Adds controls where there weren’t any

LucysTools: Gives QOL tools and fixes

MusicAnywhere: Playes background tracks everywhere and randomly switches to keep the music fresh.

BetterJoinLeave: Makes it more potent when a player joins or leaves.

BashfulBuckets: Bucket buddy QOL

Pitched_Vocals: Changes the pitch of animal vocalizations (meow/bark/etc) based on the players voice pitch

BorderlessFix: A hotfix/patch that fixes the “Windowed Borderless” fullscreen setting

The best experience in a high modded Webfishing enviorment is to just find all the fun mods yourself. There are only around 300 mods by the time i am writing this, so it wont take more than 15 minutes to look through them all.

If you have downloaded all the recommended mods and you try to load up Webfishing and it just crashes, dont worry heres a solution.
When all the mods are downloaded, alot of the mods are going to be using a modding tool called Lure. Not LureRefreshed. Lure is an old version of LureRefreshed made back in 2024. To fix this you just have to click on the Lure mod and press uninstall. Then click “Uninstall Lure only”.
Make sure after uninstalling Lure that you have installed LureRefreshed.
