Up-to-date 100% achievement+ending guide (plus some extra lore).
Introduction
I will be referencing MythOfLight’s guide and the Milk Series Wiki [milk-games.fandom.com].
Order of Events + Play-through
- “First death” (Selecting “(That’s the thing. I have no idea. This is… weird.)”)
- “Please, forget it” or “You’re annoying” (You can choose either first, doesn’t matter which)
- “Second death” (Requires “First death” prior in the run)
- “Goodnight” (Obtained from natural progression. You don’t have to do anything specific)
- “You won’t get it” (aka. Ending 1)
At the very beginning of the game you will get to watch a nice cinematic.
Getting past the introductory phase of dialogue your character will say “Hey”
None of your choices will make a big difference until after you get up from the floor.
Choose what you would like to! Be nice though 🙁

[A1] First death
To get this achievement, the player must choose the “(That’s the thing. I have no idea. This is… weird.)” option after they ask what Milk-chan was thinking while lying on the floor.
Triggering this sequence will guarantee the Shop Ending (aka. default or ending 1).
These are the items of importance. You can optionally look through all of the ones not listed and they will not impact your progress. Keep in mind the important ones will have the fireflies you need (3 total to proceed). The computer and backpack have impactful decisions, while the phone triggers one of the endings. Wait until further instructions to click on them.
All items excluding the phone contain fireflies. You need at least 3 to complete the game. A few endings require specific firefly counts.
The phone is an additional item. It is used as a trigger (along with the backpack and computer) for different obtainable endings within the game.
Proceed along the sections in order to continue the play-through portion of this guide.
[A2] Please, forget it
Select “(You’ll end up returning to that subject anyway.)”
Continue to advance through the dialogue and the achievement should appear at the end of the conversation.

[A3] You’re annoying
Select (Tell me about it again.) 2 times.
Continue through the dialogue.
The achievement should unlock afterwards.
You will need one more firefly to proceed to “Second death”.
Proceed along the sections in order to continue the play-through portion of this guide.
[A4] Second death
Collect 3 or more fireflies and then select [Finish searching].
Advance through the dialogue until you reach the following screen after suggesting she get some fresh air on the balcony.
Select (There’s no way somebody cares about you that much!)
Continue the dialogue through the falling scene.
After this line you should get the achievement.
If you go onto the balcony after completing the sequence of “Please, forget it” without activating “First death” prior in the run you will still fall but the final line will be different.
(“Please, forget it” is required to fall. If it is not activated you will get a different conclusion to that scene.)
I wanted to make sure you followed this guide to this point so you would get all of the achievements. If you would like to, you can now finish all of the options in the point-and-click portion of the game safely.
Proceed along the sections in order to continue the play-through portion of this guide.
[A5] Goodnight
The player will obtain this achievement after she falls asleep regardless of the ending.

[E1] You won’t get it
This is the default ending of the game. It mirrors the plot of the original Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk. The girl dreams that she is helping a young boy named Treska buy a bag of milk from the store just before it closes for the night.
The only requirement to get this ending is to trigger the “First death” cutscene by choosing this option at the beginning of the game.
Alternatively, avoid meeting the full requirements for any of the other endings as this is the default.
The play-through portion of this guide has concluded. Have fun!
If you are going to keep doing this in order I’d personally drop a save at the point-and-click so you can avoid having to play the introduction over and over.
Make sure you choose the (…) option since the other endings require the “First death” sequence to be avoided.
[E] Are we friends?
There are only two requirements for this ending.
- Do not trigger the First Death cutscene.
- Collect the phone, which is between the fan and the radio in the lower-right corner of the screen.
The quickest way to get this ending is to collect the phone, pill bottles, dosage notes, and notebook. Then “Finish searching”.
For some extra time save you can opt out of the balcony scene.
Make sure you choose (…) to not trigger First death otherwise you will get the first ending.
[E] Everything is fine
In this ending, the girl dreams that she is facing her reflection in the morning as she gets ready for school. However, this dream mirrors her cyclical thoughts as she loops through the same conversation, again and again, her reflection changing with each cycle.
- Do not trigger the First Death cutscene.
- Do not collect the phone.
- Collect all 5 fireflies.
Here you will need to simply get all of the fireflies. The decisions within the laptop and backpack shouldn’t matter. You can opt out of the balcony scene here as well.
[E] Is anyone there?
In this ending, the girl dreams that she has awakened in a dark room with nothing other than a door. However, as she tries to escape the room, the walls and door quickly rush away from her, leaving her in an enormous emptiness.
- Do not trigger the First Death cutscene.
- Do not collect the phone.
- Do not collect all of the fireflies.
- Trigger the Laptop Full Dialogue by answering “(You’ll end up returning to that subject anyway.)” to the girl.
- Trigger the Second Death cutscene by going to the balcony after having triggered the Laptop Full Dialogue.
Here you can just collect the computer + 2 other fireflies. (Not the phone)
You will have to go to the balcony for this ending.
[E] I look down
In this dream, the girl finds herself on a thin staircase spiraling around a colossal concrete pillar, and an oppressive cosmic force appears to impart some mysterious insights.
- Do not trigger the First Death cutscene.
- Do not collect the phone.
- Do not collect all of the fireflies.
- Do not go to the balcony.
This one is pretty self explanatory.
Collect 3 fireflies of your choice. (Not the phone)
Choose this option to avoid the balcony scene.
You should get the achievement after she goes to sleep.
Easter Eggs
The following is translated into English (using Google + a few of my own edits):
"Wait for the call and don't go anywhere. I don't know if I was told this or if I instilled it myself ... but I am now a hostage to a small dusty device. I'm sure someone will call. But when? I don't have a watch or a basic sense of time. You need to get ready somehow! What should you say when you pick up the phone? "Allo"? "Hello"? Maybe. But what if it's considered rude? If I have to devote myself entirely to waiting for a call, it must be very important. You need to show respect. Yes, I'll say "Good day". Not a single sound around. And there is nothing at all, only a phone. What is so special about a person in a place where there is nothing? Maybe they'll tell me a joke? No, this is an important call! Although, perhaps, this is a special anecdote, invented especially for me? In that case, I just have to appreciate it. But who needs to invent jokes for me? Who even has my number? I don't want to talk to strangers. Still no call. Maybe this person doesn't care about me and is calling for something else? But I'm here alone. There's nothing here. Although... I'm wrong. You can't judge by what you see. Because there is something that can only be felt. For example, your thoughts. They are a little ticklish. It tickles my nerves. I'm beginning to doubt that anyone even wanted to contact me. And if he did, what did he want to tell me? It seems that I now live only in the expectation of something inevitable. What if, in a moment of waiting, my life ends? What will happen after? If you think about it, I'm pretty good as it is. Just a little boring. But I don't want it to be nothing, or even worse. Why should I even wait for someone when I can get up and leave? I looked around. Stupid idea when there is emptiness around. But maybe sooner or later I will come to something? What if this is the best place for me? What if this is the best place for me? What if this is the best place for me?" ...
The final line repeats a total of 149 times at the end of the file.
Some translations are not exact (I am not nor can I read Russian). I tried to do some research and reintroduce some of the nuances of the language. There are two forms of “Hello” used. One formal, one informal. They both translated the same so I changed the one to “Allo” (following the Russian spelling). There is another instance of a different greeting that simply translated to “Hello” but I changed it to a more formal greeting from the English language.
On top of this, the lines were all separated individually (they were spaced into the code).
I’ve gone ahead and formatted them into paragraphs for easier reading.
I will include the original Russian below if anyone wants to check the translation
