This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the best weapons and Star Cards for every class and hero in STAR WARS Battlefront II.
Assault
There are three blasters worth using:
- A280 – best choice; outclassed only at extreme long-range; use Improved Cooling and Improved Range
- CR-2 – extremely fast fire rate, can use at extremely close-range, but lacks versatility, so keep it to tight maps; use Reduced Recoil and Ion Shot
- EL-16HFE – superior at range but not worth it at mid/close-range; use Reduced Recoil and Improved Range
Star Cards:
- Toughen Up – always use
- Bounty Hunter – always use if interested in hero play
- Smart Ion Grenade – on maps with heavy ground vehicle use
- Bodyguard – everywhere else if grenades are a problem
- Assault Training- everywhere else if grenades aren’t a problem
Heavy
Two blasters only:
- TL-50 – excels at close-range and useful at mid-range; use Improved Cooling and Reduced Spread
- T-21 – excels at long-range and useful at mid-range, but unforgiving at close-range; no attachments worth using
Star Cards:
- Bounty Hunter – if interested in heroes
- Improved Combat Shield – if not interested in heroes
- Ion Turret – vehicle hunting
- Ion Torpedo – vehicle hunting
- Detonite Charge – infantry hunting
- Bodyguard – infantry hunting
Officer
Two options:
- SE-44C – use with Improved Cooling and Rapid Fire; use 99-100% of the time
- S-5 – if you really want to try long-range but don’t want to switch classes; use Improved Recoil
Star Cards:
- Bounty Hunter – use if interested in heroes
- Officer’s Presence – use if interested in heroes
- Recharge Command – pick this (or Improved Battle Command) if interested in heroes
- Improved Battle Command – pick this (or Recharge Command) if interested in heroes
- Improved Flash Grenade – not interested in heroes
- Bodyguard – not interested in heroes
Specialist
Two weapons:
- NT-242 – just want to snipe; use with Dual Zoom and Improved Cooling (can swap out Dual Zoom for Disrupter Shot for vehicle hunting)
- A280-CFE – want to do things other than sniping; use with Burst Mode and Dual Zoom
Star Cards to use with NT-242:
- Marksman – sitting back and sniping
- Survivalist – sitting back and sniping
- Personal Shield – sniping (either sitting back or attacking)
- Expert Weapons Handling – attack-sniping

- Forward! – trooper gamemodes
- Perfect Defense – hero gamemodes
Yoda
Yoda uses most of the same cards for both gamemodes:
- Agility – all modes
- Feel the force – all modes
- Jedi Mentor – trooper gamemodes; can be swapped out if you find another you like better
- Opposing the dark side – hero gamemodes
Luke Skywalker
Luke’s cards have clearly-defined uses based on gamemode and map:

Count Dooku
Most cards stay the same:
- Sith Control
- Balanced Duelist
- Last Seconds – trooper modes
- Masterful Duelist – hero modes
- Finesse – can swap Sith Control out for this if you prefer Stamina over Health
General Grievous
Grievous has many great Star Cards so it’s hard to choose:

- Flesh is Weak
- Sith Trained – pick this or Beating Heart
- Beating Heart – pick this or Sith Trained
Hero modes:
- Line Up, Weaklings

Vader has many great Star Cards as well so it can be hard to choose and you can’t really go wrong:
- Furious Resilience
- Bonus Health
- There is no escape – trooper modes
- Punishing Grip – hero modes
Kylo Ren
Kylo has two separate set-ups for trooper vs hero modes:
Trooper modes:
- Closing in

- Power Reach
Hero modes:
- Power Reach
- Bloodlust
- Power of Darkness – against blaster heroes
- Solid Freeze – less/no blaster heroes
Chewbacca
Chewie has lots of cards to pick from:
Trooper modes:
- Impervious – better than Bonus Health; swap for Bonus Health if it’s not working for you
- Bonus Health – swap for Impervious when you feel comfortable
- Charging Frenzy
- Slammed – pick this or Echoing Roar; better for charging
- Echoing Roar – pick this or Slammed; better for less charging and more shooting
Hero modes:
- Extended Shock

- Shocked and Vulnerable – replaces Impervious
Han Solo
Han doesn’t have many cards worth using:
- Heavily Modified Blaster
- Air Burst

- Smuggler’s Wits – hero modes
Leia
Like Han, Leia doesn’t have many cards worth using:

- Laser Brain – only if sniping her secondary fire in trooper gamemodes
Lando
Another hero with not many cards to pick from:
- Hot and Cold
- Wide Eyed
- Maximized Efficiency – trooper modes
- Quick Shock – hero modes
Finn
For Finn, it’s not about mode but about what you’re planning to do:
Trooper modes:

- No More Running
- Raised to do one thing
Support role:
- Stay Calm

- One Resistance
Hero modes:

- Self Repairs – can swap out for the previous card, but Spared Batteries is better
Hero modes:
- Self Repairs
- Whirlwind

- Headfirst – Hero Showdown
BB-9E
Not a lot of cards worth using:
- Full reconstruction

Captain Phasma
Two Star Cards should always be used, with just the third changing:
- Not Hard Enough

- Easy Shots – use in Co-Op only
- The More the Better – hero modes
Boba Fett
Not many Star Cards worth choosing:

- Multi-traps – all modes (except Co-Op)
- Trap Arming Speed – all modes (except Co-Op)
- Lingering Dioxis – trooper modes
- Name your poison – hero modes and Co-Op
- Ultimate Predator – Co-Op only
- Unrelenting Predator – Co-Op only
Iden Versio
Iden has a clear best loadout:
- Alternative Methods
- Droid Batteries
- Cooled Blaster
Palpatine
Another straightforward set of choices:
- In Full Control
- Show No Mercy – every mode except Hero Showdown, then swap out for The Rule of Two
- The Rule of Two – Hero Showdown only
- Lightning Reach – open areas (most of the time)
- Surge of Lightning – close quarters (more rare situations)
