Burglin’ Gnomes Equipment Tier List: Best to Worst

Every gnome starts with nothing but ambition. The difference between a clean heist and ending up in Grandpa’s stew pot? Your gear. This list ranks every item from game-winner to vendor trash. Prioritize your crafting and looting without wasting cloth or gnomeium. Whether you’re min-maxing for endgame or just trying to survive your first raid, here’s what to build and what to bench.

List Overview

Ranked from best to worst, based on hundreds of raids. The meta might shift with patches, but for now, these picks tell you what’s worth your resources. Everything except Fairy Wings and Boom Box is crafted at the well on the island, so resource management is key.

Main Equipment List (Ranked Best to Worst)

1. Boxing Gloves

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Stuns Red Caps and Seals on hit — absolute must-have for long games. Kills Red Caps fast and beats most mobs to death. Grandpa’s immune, though. Cloth shortage makes it hard to equip all six gnomes, but if you get a full set, nothing touches you.

2. Blowpipe

Also well-crafted. Needs darts made from potions. Potions require a Lab Table, darts need a Repacker — two extra production steps. Worth it: sleep darts stop any hostile mob. Often required for quests needing sleep, fart, or flight effects on enemies. Top-tier utility.

3. Fairy Wings

Drops from the Fairy. She appears near the gnome house during a raid, making a “Hey, hello” sound. Clothing slot. Good replacement for Spring Boots. Flight burns stamina but gets you to most hard-to-reach spots. Watch out: the Fairy shoots a laser from its eyes after getting hit — instant kill. Use explosives, firearms, or stun it with a sleep dart, then beat it with gloves or a bat. Killing the Fairy hurts your karma during the raid, so weigh the trade-off.

4. Spring Boots

Crafted at the well. Clothing slot. Jump power increases with each bounce, consuming stamina. Prevents leg damage from falls but risks head injury from ceilings/objects — pair with a Helmet. Helps reach tricky spots and combos well with Grappling Hook.

5. Helmet

Crafted at the well. Clothing slot. Protects head from ceiling/object impacts. Only useful with Spring Boots or Grappling Hook, but that combo is strong enough to justify crafting one per gnome.

6. Gnomeium Gloves

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Lets you carry items and open doors from a distance — including the entrance door at raid start. Safely retrieve items from high shelves and carry fragile materials without risking a fall.

7. Grappling Hook

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Not easy to use, but proper use massively increases mobility. Left-click after jumping pulls the gnome to the rope end. Works with Spring Boots and Helmet to reach anywhere on the map.

8. Backpack

Crafted at the well. Clothing slot. Adds +2 weapon slots. Great with Blowpipe for carrying more darts and other gear — effectively doubles your combat potential.

9. Beater

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. No stun. Useful for breaking objects, but for combat, Boxing Gloves are strictly better. Don’t bother.

10. Boom Box

Drops from Jonathan. He’s in a small house on the map — knock several times to summon a muscular gnome with a boom box. Drops on death or stun. Weapon slot. Plays music when equipped. Fun, but useless in a fight.

11. Sticky Gloves

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Lets you climb walls and surfaces. Convenient for reaching windows, shelves, or tables, but a pain for opening doors. Situational — just craft Spring Boots or Gnomeium Gloves instead.

12. Telescope

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Shows what materials an object in Grandpa’s house contains. Pointless — the game has a guide listing object components. Skip it.

13. Glider

Crafted at the well. Clothing slot. Glide by pressing space while in flight. Controls are clunky, and you’re vulnerable for a few seconds on landing. Best with Spring Boots, but still low priority.

14. Ball Cannon

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Shoots bouncing balls. Useless against Grandpa. Balls are often on sofas, but limited supply on the map makes it ineffective. Use Blowpipe instead.

15. Pickaxe

Crafted at the well. Weapon slot. Breaks objects into components you can carry in weapon slots. Components stack in 3s. Honestly easier to just throw objects out of the house than to break and carry components to the chest.

16. Slingshot

Crafted at the well. Clothing slot. Can’t use in solo play. One gnome stretches their arms, hooks onto another gnome, and flies forward slightly. Extremely useless — not even fun.
