This guide shows you how to get every achievement in Forever Ago. I put it together from my own playthrough, and it covers the story achievements, the missable ones, and the collectibles that take a little extra effort. If something here still leaves you stuck, leave a comment and I will try to help.

Story Achievements
You earn 7 achievements just by moving through the story. You cannot really miss these if you finish the game.
- “Before I Forget Myself” — Stop at a local gas station and stock up on supplies for the road.
- “Trip’s Cancelled” — You just want to go home.
- “Back On The Road” — Find a reason to continue traveling.
- “Have a Swantastic Day” — Carve your initials on a memorial tree.
- “What’s In A Name” — Give a dog a name.
- “Alright, First Coffee” — Finish the walk to the lighthouse.
- “You Can’t Plan Life” — Reach Alfred’s destination.
Accumulative and Progress Achievements
These pop over time as you explore. A few of them can be finished early if you know the trick, which I will explain as I go.
Glimpse Into The Past — Find a Memory. To activate a memory you need petals. Each memory needs a certain number of petals, and those petals are always found nearby. The locations are linear, so they are hard to miss.
Moment Collector — Find all memories. There are 7 memories in the game.
Old Bones — Use all resting places. There are 6 memories in the game. The locations are linear, so you will find them easily.
Self-Portrait Photography — Take 10 selfies.
Focus Finder — Take 25 photos.
Picture Perfect — Take 50 photos.
You can take photos while exploring by pressing the C key. Each episode has a photo limit. Use the camera at the end of each day, then pick your favorite shot and paste it into your journal. Or simply take photos and delete them — that still counts. You can reach 50 photos this way while still in the Pumpkin Market.
1. Woolson Falls
Curious Photographer — Take photos of all the interesting objects in Alfred’s room. You can grab this early. Photograph every interesting object in the room, and make sure you do it before you take a photo of Alfred.
2. Karl’s Pumpkin Market
Chrono Selfie — Take a selfie with Milton. To take a selfie, hold down SPACEBAR. You will not learn this until later, roughly halfway through the game, so you may need to come back to it. I wish this one had been placed later, because it is easy to walk past too early.
Patience Of A Saint — You cannot just interrupt Milton. When you examine the road atlas and windshield wipers, Milton will try to sell them to you. Do not interrupt him. Take the items only after he stops talking. When you pay, the achievement pops. I suggest doing this when you restart the chapter, since Milton really does talk a lot.
Shopaholic — Buy everything in Carl’s Pumpkin Market. Along with windshield wipers and the road atlas, you also need to buy:
- Cookie
- Chips
- Canned goods
- Air freshener
- Shirt
- Sticker

3. Highway Star Roadside Cafe
Hatless — Doze off and lose Alfred’s cap. Sit on the bench near the roadside cafe first. That makes you lose the cap. After you talk to Maddie at the cafe, she will ask you to investigate who is making a mess in the backyard. You find the cap there, and the achievement comes with it.

5. Visiting Sam
Stupid Thing! — “Fix” the broken kitchen drawer. In Sam’s house, close the drawer in the kitchen five times. It reopens after you leave the kitchen.

Green Thumb — Beat Sam in the Flower Watering Competition. Keep moving and you will get this without much trouble. Water the flowers on your side of the house faster than Sam does on his.
Make a Wish — Quickly make a wish on a shooting star. At the end of the chapter, while sitting around the campfire, Alfred tells you to make a wish. Pick one of the options before time runs out.
6. “Captain Marley and the Pirates’ Hideout”
Guardian Lord — Break the arcade record. Playing the arcade is one of the main goals here. To earn this, beat the record of 1,337 points. You get points for destroying meteorites, and destroying other ships gives you a shield that blocks one hit.
Olympic-Level Stick Thrower — Play with the dog three times. You can do this at the amusement park. In the area near the cannon there are several sticks to throw, and they are all fairly close together. Sticks are also scattered around the park, but the ones near the cannon are enough.
Scallyrat Roberts — Find out why the amusement park went bankrupt. To earn this, find eight notes and newspaper clippings scattered around the park. You must collect them before you go for the boat.

The Plundered Plumage — Find the “Marley” bobblehead. Before you take the boat, go back to where you entered the park and break the lock. The bobblehead is on the table.
Complete a full rotation in the boat. At the end of the day you need to reach the island by boat. To earn the achievement, do one full rotation.

7. Winslow Lighthouse
It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Doggo — Take a photo of a dog instead of a bird’s nest. This photo happens through the story. Alfred wants to photograph the nest at first, but you need the dog. Lower the camera and take the picture.
8. Williamina Peak
Shaun and Jason — During the climb, call your dog at least 30 times. At the start of this episode you need to find your dog. Call its name 30 times. Do this while standing still, because if you call while moving forward you may not get all the calls in.
9. Epilogue
World’s Largest Mosaic Pumpkin Collection — Find all of Audrey’s mosaic pumpkins in the house. After the credits you are taken through the house. You need to find seven pumpkins.
- In Odie’s office
- On the windowsill in the hallway
- In the bathroom, behind the door
- Next to the bathtub
- On the shelf above the stairwell
- On the dresser in the living room
- On the dining table in the living room
