What does Gear and Modchips do in Gotham Knights? Well I’m here to explain that.
What Gear and Modchips Do.
There are 3 Types of Gear for your character, these types are
- Suit
- Melee
- Ranged
What are Suits?
Changing your suit Gear gives you different buffs such as, more health, more defence, increased momentum gain or other buffs such as elemental resistance or elemental armor. Elemental armor raises the amount of hits you must take before the element affects you. There are also conditional stats that can give you a variety of different buffs.
What are Melee’s?
Changing your Melee Gear can give you increased damage, increased critical chance, increased momentum and increased elemental buildup gain. You also gain the ability to inflict elemental ability’s on enemy’s. Melee gear also comes with conditional stats.
What are Ranged?
Changing your Ranged Gear can give you increased damage, increased critical chance, increased momentum and increased elemental buildup gain. You also gain the ability to inflict elemental ability’s on enemy’s. Ranged gear also comes with conditional stats.
What is Power?
Power Increases the stats of your Gear making it stronger than the last piece.
How to craft Gear
Crafting Gear requires salvage which is obtained from chests or from criminals after defeating them.

You can check how much salvage you have at any time by entering your inventory and going to the crafting section under Gear.

How do you get crafting recipes?
You get crafting recipes by opening chests or defeating criminals in the same way you would for salvage.
What are Modchips?
Modchips provide buffs in the same way other pieces of Gear provide buffs except they are not exclusive to one piece of Gear, as they can be put on multiple pieces of Gear and can be stacked with other Modchips. You can get to the Modchips inventory by going to the Mods section under Gear.

Modchips can be fused by selecting the fuse option and then merging 4 Modchips into one Modchip Thus making the Modchip better in level and rarity based on what Modchips you used.
