This guid contains the base prices of all potions, the formula to calculate the price a customer gonna pay and some tips to increase the price.
Base Potion Prices
The Potions are sorted by price.
Price Formula
Lastly the price is rounded down to the next natural Number.
Price: base price of the potion listed in the table
Strength: the strength of the potion (I, II, III) but can also be the speacial request for a strong or weak potion.
Additional: If the customer is accepting different effects to fulfil his request also the base price of the other effect will be added Additional is just like another Price * Strength (up to 3 more Additionals is possible if all effects are desired by the customer).
Special Request Multipliers: If the customer has any special restrictions for you and you meet those.
Trading Talent Multiplier: The bonus multiplier you get from the skill.
Popularity Multiplier: The bonus multiplier you get with a good Popularity.
Haggling is calculated afterwards (also rounded down).
The customer is a mage and wants a potion to use after an exhaustive battle. He accepts a healing potion but could also accept a mana potion. As special requests:
he doesn’t want Ingredient X in his potion
likes atleast one Ingredient Y in his potion
We have unlocked Trading VII (70%) and our Popularity gives a bonus of 20%.
The potion we craft is a Mana III, Healing II Potion with both special requests fulfilled then the filled formula would look as followed:
(36.5 * 2.5 + 10 * 1.75) * 1.5 * 1.5 * 1.7 * 1.2 = 499
(Base Mana Potion Cost * Tier 3 Multiplier
+ Base Health Potion Cost * Tier 2 Multiplier)
* Request Fulfilled No Ingredient X Multiplier
* Request Fulfilled Atleast Onece Ingredient Y Multiplier
* Trading VII Multiplier
* Popularity Multiplier
The customer wants a healing potion. Special request:
fitting additional effects
We have unlocked Trading IV (40%) and our Popularity gives a bonus of 30%.
The potion we craft is Healing I, Strength I, Dexterity I, Swiftness I and Stoneskin I. Those are all fitting effects besides healing but none of them would satisfy the customer alone so we have none Additional part in the formula.
(10 * 1) * 1.25 * 1.2 * 5/3 * 2 * 1.4 * 1.3 = 91
(Base Healing Potion Cost * Tier 1 Multiplier)
* Additional fitting Effects 2nd Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 3rd Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 4th Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 5th Multiplier
* Trading IV Multiplier
* Popularity Multiplier
(132 * 3) * 2 * 1.5 * 1.25 * 1.2 * 5/3 * 2 * 2 * 1.5 = 17820 Haggling => 26730
(Levitation Potion Base Price * Request Weak Potion)
* Mainly use Ingredient X Multiplier
* Maximal 3 type of Ingredien Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 2nd Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 3rd Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 4th Multiplier
* Additional fitting Effects 5th Multiplier
* Trading X Multiplier
* Popularity 50% Multiplier
Haggling Very Hard (*1.5)
Tips and Remarks
There may be multiple effects suitable to solve the customers problem. Using the most expensive solution as Tier 3 and 2nd expensive as Tier 2 should maximise the price but consider Ingredient cost and there may be two suitable effects close to each other that may be a better choice.
The multipliers of required and optional requests are the same. Also not doing an optional request has no negative effect on the price.
A customer will buy any potion with additional effects if atleast 1 effects solves the problem and the effects are compatible but won’t pay for those they didn’t requested (Example: wants to start a fire => fire T1 = fire T1 poison T1 = Fire T1 Poison T2 = Fire T1 Poison T1 Frost T1 = Frost T3 Fire T1 (Yes Frost and Fire are compatible)).
You can put an infinit number of acceptable potions on the scale but can only have 2 mistakes (the customer leaves with the 3rd mistake).
