Sekiro™ Shadows Die Twice: How to Fix Controller Issue

want to git gud? but cant because your controllers says NO!?

x360ce install

now I take no credit for any of this but it worked for me and my issue for my Xbox One controller but should work for any controller from what I have seen.
I am just laying it out here to help my fellow gamers in need.(1.) start off by going here and downloading V3.x 64bit (NOT v4.x)
https://github.com/x360ce/x360ce

(2.) We have to find where your game is installed and where game executable is located. In Steam you can find it easily when you right click your game name and select Properties.

(3.) Select Local files -tab and Browse local files.

(4.) Find folder that contains your game executable. In this case it located in Binaries/Retail. Extract your x360ce ZIP file inside that folder.

(5.) Right click x360ce exe and select Run as administrator.

(6.) X360 Controller Emulator will throw warning “xinput 1_3.dll was not found. This file is required for emulator to function properly.”. Click Create.

(7.) Now x360ce informs that it has detected new device, and i suggest that you just hit Next, so it search settings from internet.

(8.) Click Finish.

(9.) After that i always hit Auto cause couple of times it didn’t automatically fill all buttons.

(10.) Click Yes.

(11.) Click Save.

And that’s that! Now you can normally launch your game from your desktop or from Steam and x360ce emulator will start automatically, and you can use your controller.

I have found both a youtube video and webpage I will link for really straight forward instructions on how to use it only takes about 1min to do and your good to go.

x360c Controller triggers

so I did have a small stumble as i got into the game and got my prosthetic and realised my triggers were not setup correctly by the auto config, so I’ve spent a bit to tinker around and find a happy medium so.

right invery half axis 3

Controller Patching

another thing might be worth doing as well if you are on windows 10 and using an xbox controller is updating your controller.

If your Xbox One controller loses functionality when you get to the main menu, it is an indication that your controller’s firmware are not up to date.

To update your controller’s firmware on Windows 10 using the Xbox Accessories app:

Launch the Xbox Accessories app.
Connect your controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
Please note: You’ll be prompted to update to Windows 10 Anniversary Edition if you haven’t yet done so.
When the controller is connected, you’ll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.
To update your controller’s firmware using an Xbox One:

Connect a controller to your Xbox One with a USB cable. Keep any headsets connected to the controller.
Connect to Xbox Live.
Press the Menu button.
Go to Settings → Devices & accessories and select the controller.
Select Update to download the new firmware.
