Turok: How to Use Mods

“I subscrided mods in the workshop but when i launch the game where the **** are my mods ???”

Hello, i noticed on forums or in workshop comments that some people don’t know how to use mods installed despite they have subscrided them in the workshop.

This is pretty simple. The mods don’t launch when you start Turok base game!
You must use the Kex editor for the game in order to use them as it is stated by the developper on game forum: How to play Steam Workshop maps and mods

Explanations

When you launch the kex editor, you have a tab at the top right where it says workshop items (for the mods you have installed).
Click on it and refresh with the circle icon with an arrow if you have installed or removed new mods.
Choose the mods you want to use in the game by clicking on them (shift+click or ctrl+click to select more than one).
Finally, click on the play icon.

Recommended Mods

iddqd_textures is a must have to enjoy superb textures for Turok.
(For those with grainy far away textures, use FocalDOF.fx in ReShade (forgot which pack, do a search) and set the scale to 1.0 to 1.5. It fixes the problem entirely.)

V_ Skies texture for changing the sky in Turok and get an awesome one.

Original Turok Levels. You must install this mod if you want to play with the real original n64 levels which are the best.
(just choose to start a new game for the beginning and in the choice of levels, choose start normal game)

Turok+ can change a lot of things in the game by improving the gameplay, but beware, if you then want a perfectly original gaming experience, I do not recommend this mod right away.

There are also other quality mods but I’ll let you discover them…
