Zardy’s Maze: How to Counter All Pumpkins – Complete Guide

If you’re struggling with the different pumpkin enemies in Zardy’s Maze, don’t worry—I’ve got you covered. This guide breaks down every enemy type you’ll encounter and how to deal with them effectively. Let’s jump right in.

Enemy Counter Guide

Zardy

Strategy Details
Counter Simply shine your flashlight on him and wait until he disappears.

Pumpkin Jack

Strategy Details
Appearance Sometimes there can be up to 4 of them on the map at once.
Special Ability Can jump over rows of crops.
Counter Just go into the corn and wait until he runs away. Alternatively, shine your flashlight on him and run.

Cornstalkers (also translated as “Corn Men”)

Strategy Details
Spawn Location They can appear in places you’ve just passed through.
Counter Hit them 3 times to defeat them.

Pumpkin Traps

Strategy Details
Visibility These fools cannot be seen without your flashlight.
Danger If you step on their tentacle, they will grab you.
Counter Hit them 3 times to break free.

Brute

Strategy Details
Role Guards the weeds.
Behavior As soon as you start breaking the weed he’s protecting, he will aggro on you immediately.
Counter You must quickly break the weed and run away from his location like a wild boar.

Rattler (Appears only in challenges)

Attack Type Description Counter
Ranged Attack Throws a harpoon (as far as I understand) to grab the player. Shine your flashlight on him and he will stop.
Close-Range Attack Will chase after you. Same as above—flashlight stops him.
⚠️ Note He can still get you and kill you in the bushes. (I might be wrong since I’ve only fought him once.)

Cablecrow

Strategy Details
Behavior Attaches his harpoon to poles.
Counter Simply don’t stand near his harpoon when it’s flying toward a pole. You can stop him when he’s holding onto a pole by using your flashlight (but only when you’re shining it on him).

Final Thoughts

That covers all the pumpkin enemies you’ll face in Zardy’s Maze. Each one has a specific weakness—some need a good flashlight shine, others require a few hits, and a couple just need you to keep your distance. The key takeaway? Always have your flashlight ready, and don’t panic when you see multiple enemies at once.
