Infinitode 2: How to Beat Level 6.1

Level 6.1 throws the mechanic of destroying gemstones right into your face, with no tutorial or way to tell what you get for actually destroying them. It’s also just a difficult level, as every regular enemy type shows up, and you only start with four tower spaces.

So… Here’s how to easily beat it!

Step 1: Requirements

To beat level 6.1, you must first unlock it.

Get enough stars in stage 5.

Step 2: The Cheese

I legitimately don’t know how you’re supposed to get more than one star in this level without grinding the game out for days on end or cheesing it, so, here’s how to do the latter.

Level 6.1 features a tile that sets the wave interval time to 5 seconds, which means once all the enemies from the current wave are on the field, you have 5 seconds to rid of them before the next wave comes instead of the usual interval time other maps have.

As you might’ve figured, or experienced, this can overwhelm and flood the map quickly. Leading to the enemies spawning in not receiving any focus from nearby towers set to “First”.

So how do we prevent this?

That’s right.

We’re gonna swap to easy mode.

Step 3: EASY MODE?!

Yep.

You lose 25% of your rewards, but you CAN gain stars in easy mode.

Which means another step closer to unlocking the rest of the levels and towers.

In easy mode, enemy waves will only come when you call them, and this overrides the previously mentioned 5 second interval tile.

You will need to beat at least wave 1, but it’s only regular green enemies at least.

Once that’s done, just… set the game speed to max and let your towers do the work.

After that, idk, go get a coffee, listen to some music, read a book or something? Come back every now and then to see if your towers are still shooting at the gemstones. Every time one breaks, you get some money.

Plus the gems are a great way for levelling up your towers early!

Remember you can sell towers to buy longer ranged ones for those gems just out of the way.

If you’ve tabbed out to do something else, remember, you can mute the game audio.

Step 4: Profit.

Oh look! All the gemstones are broken now and I haven’t even beat wave 2 yet.

Of course, you don’t need to break all of the gems if you don’t want to or follow my very patient set up, but at least break the middle one to access the core at round two.

Overall, I got 12.5k gold to spend. Dealt about 5M damage, and earned 19K green papers.

Set up your defences, and get those easy 3 stars.

Bonus Section: Additional information

I’ve gotten close to 3 stars on normal and here’s a few things I’ve picked up.

Piercing upgrades that the sniper and multishot have are affected by gemstones, however their shots will go over gemstones to hit an enemy and then the piercing damage effect takes place.

Blast will attack if there are gemstones in range.

Flamethrower doesn’t seem to target gemstones but it’s the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥’ flamethrower tower you’re gonna place at least one down. However, if a gemstone is caught within the flames, it will take damage.

There is legitimately no way to force your towers to target gemstones that I know of, other than trying to prevent enemies from entering their targeting radius. I’m begging you, please add this as a targeting option.

You can increase the wave interval by 10 seconds by destroying certain white gems that are next to blue ones on the left and right side of the map. Good luck getting the one on the left though, it’s close to the enemy spawn, so your towers will likely be targeting the enemies instead.

Good luck.
