Into the Radius VR: Basic Weapons and Gear Guide

ITR 2.0 weapons sorted by security level, cataloging their price and upgrade information.

Security Level 1

Important Gear:

  • Detector ($200) – Used to detect and reveal artifacts to make money. Bring one, maybe a spare as well.
  • Camera ($50) – Take note of the handles on the Camera. While this item only has use during Paparazzi missions to take photos of active targets, you’ll sometimes find a camera in the Radius without handles. Bring said camera back, as it’s a “Camera Trap” and worth $300 at the shop.
  • Advanced Probes ($25) – Spent shell casings to throw at anomalies. Always make sure you’re carrying a spare bag of probes in your pack should you drop the one you’re using.
  • Pocket Lamp ($50) – A weak green light, designed to sit in a pocket slot and turn with your torso. Good for clearing buildings. Harder to clear Black Grass anomalies with than a full flashlight.
  • Medical Injector ($220) – Will heal approximately 60% of your health over a short amount of time. Unlike a Regen artifact, you don’t have to hold onto it.

9x18mm Weapons:
Makarov ($300, $100/magazine)

  • Upgrades – Add Rail S ($250), Pistol Suppressor Adapter ($300), Reliability +15% ($400)
  • Switch State – Special Pistol Scope Mount ($300)
  • Your starter gun. 8 in the magazine. You can find one of these with ammo and magazines in the very beginning of the first zone, atop the Watchtower where you spawn in from base. This respawns with each Tide.

7.62x25mm Weapons:
TT-33 ($300, $100/magazine)

  • Upgrades – Add Rail S ($250), Pistol Suppressor Adapter ($300), Reliability +15% ($400)
  • Switch State – Special Pistol Scope Mount ($300)
  • A damage upgrade from the Makarov with the same magazine size, you can probably find one of these lying around in a supply crate in one of the first three zones.

12 Gauge Weapons:
IZh 27 Sawn-Off ($500)

  • Upgrades – Attachment Rail B ($500), -30% Recoil ($650)
  • Switch State – Rail B Sight Mount ($500), Increased/Reduced Spread Shot ($400)
  • Basic 12 Gauge double-barrel break-action shotgun. The description is accurate in that the weapon is not accurate. Extremely powerful, and can take out armored enemies with Slug ammo. Make sure you use the attached ammo rack for maximum fun and efficiency! (Grab ammo from rack with trigger, from front to back)
  • There is a side-by-side version of this gun that you can find in the Radius.

Security Level 2

Gear:

  • Advanced Probes ($50) – Probes with little cloth strips attached. No different functionally from the basic probes, they just fly differently. Down to personal preference, but always make sure you’re carrying a spare bag of probes in your pack should you drop the one you’re using.
  • Gas Mask ($1200) – Prevents Anomaly Damage from the Green Gas anomaly, and as far as I can tell, reduces damage significantly from Web anomaly. Necessary for several missions.
  • Headlamp ($400) – Goes on over headgear and toggles on/off with trigger when hand is empty and placed at head. Very bright and easy to use. Can be worn with a helmet, etc.
  • Smoke Grenade ($200) – It’s a smoke grenade. Spews smoke everywhere, good for hiding from enemy fire.
