Stardew Valley: Update 1.6 Books Guide

The shop sells a random assortment of books each time. It appears twice every season on random dates marked on the calendar.

Whenever the Bookseller is visiting, there will be a message saying “The Bookseller is in town today“. It is open all day. The shopkeeper is called Marcello.

You will be needing a minumum of 102,000g to get only the books you need to buy.

If you want to buy all the books from the different available sellers, you would need a total of 193,000g.

You can access Marnie’s shop when she’s not around.

Bought from Marnie for 5,000g.

You gain a little extra speed when riding a horse.

Gain +1 Defense.

Fishing treasure chests have a chance to yield roe.

Obtained as a reward from treasure while fishing.

Found in a box in the back of the Adventurer’s Guild.

Mining Monthly

Bought from the Bookseller for 8,000g, or found in golden mystery boxes.

Monsters have a small chance to drop double loot.

Dropped from monsters.

You will now run a lot faster through grass and crops.

Bought from the Bookseller for 25,000g.

You can now see the value of your items.

Bought from the Bookseller for 3,000g.

Crab pots have a 25% chance to yield double.

Obtained as a reward for catching 10 squids during SquidFest (mini festival on the 12th and 13th of every winter).

All stones have a chance to drop a diamond when mined by hand.

Bought from the Dwarf in the Volcano Dungeon for 10 diamond.

You will fetch a better price when selling artifacts.

Given as a reward for completing the second raccoon item quest.
