The Blood of Dawnwalker: Bandit’s Treasure Map Guide

The Bandit’s Treasure Map is found during the prologue in Laslea Glen. Head east from Coen’s house to a shrine, then to the nearby bandit camp. Kill the bandits (dog first), loot the Broad Swing Manual from the leader, and grab the map from the table inside the hut next to an onion. Follow the map to a cave guarded by a mighty bear. Inside, dig at the suspicious ground near a shovel. Total haul: 100 Dinarios, a Superior Recipe, a sword better than your starter, and Golden Spoons. Budget two day segments for the full run.

Where I Find the Bandit’s Treasure Map

So this all kicks off in the prologue, right at the start of your time in Laslea Glen. I walked out of Coen’s house and headed east along the road until I hit a shrine. The bandit camp is right there, and trust me, they don’t want to chat.

These guys attack on sight. I tried to be sneaky about it, but it’s not worth the hassle. Just take them out. If you’re on a higher difficulty, this fight can actually get rough, so here’s what worked for me:

  1. Kill the dog first. It’s fast and annoying, and once it’s down, the fight gets way more manageable.
  2. Then pick off the bandits one by one. Don’t try to be a hero and take them all at once.

Once the dust settles, search the bandit leader. He’s carrying the Broad Swing Manual, which is a nice bonus skill book. Loot everything else they drop, then head inside the hut.

The map you want is sitting right on the table. Funny enough, it’s just sitting there next to an onion.

Following the Map to the Cave

The map marks a spot with a church and a cross. When you look at the big map, you’ll see the church in one spot and the treasure location off to the side. I backtracked a little to a crossroad, took a right, and followed the path uphill.

The road eventually leads you into a cave. But before you charge in, here’s a heads-up: there’s a pack of bears wandering around nearby. You can actually use this to your advantage. If you’re struggling with the bandits earlier, lure the bears to the camp and let them do the dirty work. They’ll distract and fight the bandits for you.

The cave itself is a different story. Inside, there’s a mighty bear guarding the way, and this thing hits way harder than the entire bandit camp combined. I had to actually respect this fight. Get your dodges down, use your skills, and don’t get greedy with your attacks.

Digging Up the Treasure

Once the bear is down, head deeper into the cave. Look for a patch of suspicious fresh ground next to a shovel. That’s your spot.

Using the shovel costs another day segment, so factor that into your 30-day budget. After digging, you’ll get:

Item Notes
100 Dinarios Solid chunk of early cash
Superior Recipe Crafting recipe for better consumables
Sword Noticeably better than your starting weapon
Golden Spoons Vendor fodder, but they sell for a decent price

Loot everything and the treasure hunt is done. Plus, you walked away with that Broad Swing Manual earlier, so this whole detour is pretty stacked in terms of rewards.
