1. Randolph’s Office

DescComplete all paths in Randolph’s Office
Total paths3Path 1

  1. Follow Randolph
  2. Go into his office
  3. Get your liver stolen
  4. You’ll be sent to the hospital room loophole location (#1 Item of Knowledge)

Path 2

  1. Run from Randolph
  2. Wait for him to catch up to you
  3. Run from him again
  4. Let him catch you
  5. You’ll be sent to the prison loophole location (#2 Item of Knowledge)

Path 3

  1. Run from Randolph
  2. Grab the syringe
  3. Stab his neck
  4. Grab the key card off his back (Green Key Card)
  5. Leave
  6. You’ll be sent to the Sickward

Complete all three paths and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

2. The Sickward

DescComplete all paths in The Sickward

  1. Do not pickup the crowbar and go to the reception area
  2. Ignore the neglected patient and get Nurse Heideltraut to spawn
  3. Get headbutt by her into oblivion
  4. You’ll be sent to The Cafeteria

Note: if you completed the neglected patient’s request early, you can still be sent to The Cafeteria by ringing the reception bell.

Path 2

  1. Pickup the crowbar and go to the reception area
  2. Nurse Heideltraut will spawn in the hallway
  3. Get headbutt by her into oblivion
  4. You’ll be sent to The Electroshock Ward

Path 3 (After Completing The Electroshock Ward)

  1. Pickup the crowbar and go to the reception area
  2. Nurse Heideltraut will spawn in the hallway
  3. Avoid her
  4. Open the gate and use the crowbar to pry open the barrier
  5. Exit area
  6. You’ll be sent to The Courtyard

Complete all three paths and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

3. The Electroshock Ward

  1. Examine the maintenance sign and wait for Nurse Anne
  2. Immediately after bursting in, run from her and then get shocked by her
  3. You’ll be sent to the prison loophole location (#3 Item of Knowledge)

Path 2

  1. Examine the maintenance sign and wait for Nurse Anne
  2. Immediately after bursting in and talking to you, wait for her to leave
  3. Once she’s outta sight, sneak into her lab and grab the maintenance key
  4. Turn off the generators in the maintenance area
  5. Return to the waiting room and wait for Nurse Anne
  6. Follow her to the electroshock room
  7. Go onto the chair
  8. Wait for her to go zip zap
  9. Grab the key card off her body (Yellow Key Card)
  10. Leave the area through the gate and perform a loop

Path 3

  1. Examine the maintenance sign and wait for Nurse Anne
  2. Immediately after bursting in and talking to you, wait for her to leave
  3. Wait for her to come back
  4. Follow her to the electroshock room
  5. Go onto the chair
  6. Wait for you to go zip zap
  7. You’ll be sent to the hospital room loophole location (#4 Item of Knowledge)

Complete all three paths and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

4. The Cafeteria

  3. Experience the soup
  4. You’ll be sent to the back alley loophole location (#5 Item of Knowledge)

Path 2

  3. Speedrun yourself getting run over by Chef Sauers
  4. You’ll be sent to the hospital room loophole location (#6 Item of Knowledge)

Complete all two paths and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

5. The Courtyard

Note: I do not know if the loophole is a requirement for the achievement. I’d take it just in case though.

6. The Attic

  5. Get dematerialized by his cane
  6. You’ll sent to Hauser’s Library

Complete the path and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

7. The Bathhouse

  1. Talk to Wolfram
  2. Undress
  3. Go into the shower room for five seconds and then return to the locker rooms
  4. Go into Wolfram’s private quarters
  5. Grab the key card on the pedestal (Purple Key Card)
  6. Touch Wolfram
  7. You’ll be sent to the prison loophole location (#7 Item of Knowledge)

Path 2

  1. Talk to Wolfram
  2. Undress
  3. Take a shower
  4. Go to the pool
  5. Get caught by Wolfram
  6. Defeat Showerhead Wolfram
  7. Grab the paper before heading out (#8 Item of Knowledge)

Path 3

  1. Talk to Wolfram
  2. Undress
  3. Don’t take a shower
  4. Go to the pool
  5. Get caught by Wolfram
  6. Defeat Scrubber Wolfram
  7. Grab the paper before heading out (#9 Item of Knowledge)

Complete all three paths and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

8. Hauser’s Library

  1. Complete the path as normal by filling the mail slot with five items of knowledge
  2. Grab the key card (Red Key Card)

Complete the path and perform a loop. You’ll receive the achievement while looping.

9. Big Lad

Process: Complete The Attic by avoiding Hauser and grabbing his ‘gift’ on his table. Afterward, escape from where Hauser was first chasing you and give it to Dokhu for later.The achievement is given to you the second you pick up the teddy bear.

10. Birthday Boys

DescCelebrate both birthdays
Process: Complete the neglect patient’s request in the cafeteria and then taste the soup. You’ll be sent to the back alley loophole, but the paper crown of the patient will be left over in that location. Grab it and then loop back to Hauser’s Library. If you completed Dohku’s request, he’ll be in the wall near the mailslot.Give him the crown and you’ll get the achievement.

11. The Final Dump

DescComplete the Neglected Patient’s questline
Process: In The Sickward, you’ll meet the neglected patient. Follow him to the toilet, wait for his request to end, and then search for the glass of water. It usually spawns in the main part of the ward where all the patients are, so check there first. Once you grab it, give it to the patient and he’ll scurry off.He’ll spawn near the entrance of The Courtyard next after leaving The Sickward. He’ll provide another request asking you to find his golden pocket watch. Give the Trash Collector trash, follow him, and he’ll offer you the pocket watch. Return to the patient and give it to him. He’ll thank you and then move to the next location.Finally, he spawns in The Bathhouse. Immediately after entering the pool area, you’ll see him run to the left side changing room. Follow him and you’ll see a door open. Go inside and you’ll see his masterpiece. Talk to him.Completing the final step gives you the achievement.

12. Crunchy, with a slicy aftertaste

DescBring the Trash Collector the totally wrong snack
Process: After meeting the Trash Collector in The Trashyard, go straight after leaving his area. Directly across from that area is an alley with black trash bins. Take the trash from them and feed it to the Trash Collector.You’ll receive the achievement right after feeding him the trash.

13. But this is worse!

DescUse the second treatment room in the Electroshock Ward
Process: While completing path three in The Electroshock Ward, follow Nurse Anne into the electroshock room. Immediately run away and wait for Nurse Anne to catch up. She’ll offer a secondary room.Follow her into the secondary room and you’ll receive the achievement.

14. Fearless

DescThis is the wrong way
Total toilets3Collect all golden toilets.All three toilets are located in completely different locations. Each location is listed below:

  • Hauser’s Library
  • Reception
  • Heilward Park

Hauser’s Library
In the double doors where you fell from, there’s a loophole location in the back area after entering the room that looks like a jail cell. Upon entering the room, turn left and you’ll see another door. Enter it and follow it to the back.

The first toilet is located there.

Reception
Follow the segment as normal until you get to the long dark hallway where something is chasing you (there isn’t anything actually chasing you by the way). Follow it to the end until you reach the door. Do not go through it. Instead, back track down the hallway.

The second toilet is located at the end.

Heilward Park
After entering the area, turn left and you’ll see a path leading to the left. Follow it until you see a statue.

The third toilet is located behind it.

Collecting every toilet in any order grants you the achievement.

15. Treatment Complete

Every time you give him trash in The Courtyard, he spits some facts. You need to do this every time you visit The Courtyard. You cannot give him trash if you already gave him some in the same loaded session of The Courtyard.You can, however, quickly loop out and loop back into The Courtyard to give him trash. Repeat five times and it’ll count.

Trash Collector Alive
Does not matter.

Covered in the Fearless section of this guide.

Upon completing the above checklist, complete the game normally by heading into the Dentist area.

Wait for the credits and you’ll receive it the second the stats screen pops up.

Editing Progression.xml

Did you know that the ‘save’ file for this game is located in the game files of your Steam directory?

If you go into the Heilwald Loophole directory, you’ll see a save directory. Enter it and you’ll see a file called Progression.xml.

If, for whatever reason, you’re stuck doing an achievement, you can delete this file to completely wipe your save data. Alternatively, if you’re looking to speedrun this whole guide, you can edit this file to open all areas early, set certain stats, and more!

You can open it in Notepad or Notepad++. I’ll cover what some lines in this file do.

Changing this value changes the game mode type of the save.

  • 0 – switches it to guided mode
  • 1 – switches it to exploration mode

<UnlockedAreas>
Changing the value changes the area to be available while looping.

  • False – disables the area
  • True – enables the area

Each area isn’t list here yet until you unlock it or visit it once. I will, however, provide a code block that lets you access every area early. Keep in mind that some areas past the Patient Hall will not work initially.

  • False – no meds acquired
  • True – meds acquired

<TrashCollector>
Changing this value changes Trash Collector attributes.

There are two choices: IsAlive and OptionalDialogue. First determines if is alive or not. Second determines how many thoughts you collected from him.

IsAlive Attribute

  • False – dead
  • True – not dead

OptionalDialogue Attribute

  • 0 – no thoughts
  • 5 – all throughts
