This will let you know every single rank that existed in VRChat and what you have to do to get them.

 

Introduction

Welcome to the VRChat Complete Rank Guide! You are probably here for three reasons, 1: You want to know how to get a higher rank in VRChat, 2: You want to know about the VRChat ranks, or 3: You’re here because you felt like reading a VRChat Rank Guide.

This guide will help you understand everything about the ranking criteria and you might know about ranks you probably never heard of, and might teach you what you have to do to earn the rank.

2019 – Present Ranks (New Rank System)

We will start with the Latest Ranking System, that has 4 Rising Ranks, 1 Starting Rank and 1 Falling Rank.

Trusted User

This is the highest achievable rank you can get by playing the game with the latest ranking system, the rank color is purple and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Hide your rank to User Visually, Report Worlds, Report Users, and Report Avatars.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 250 friends and have 500 – 1500+ hours in-game or migrating your Steam/Oculus/Viveport account with the rank “Trusted User” to a VRChat Account, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

This rank can also be obtained by buying VRChat+ as a Known User

Known User

When you reach this rank you get a new ability allowing you to hide your rank visually to user, the rank color is orange and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Hide your rank to User Visually, Report Worlds, Report Users, and Report Avatars.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 100 friends and have 250 – 500 hours in-game or migrating your Steam/Oculus/Viveport account with the rank “Known User” to a VRChat Account, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

This rank can also be obtained by buying VRChat+ as a User

User

This rank is the middle-ground in the ranking system and finally gives you the ability to report worlds and users, the rank color is green and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Report Worlds, Report Avatars, and Report Users.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 25 friends and have 50 – 250 hours in-game or migrating your Steam/Oculus/Viveport account with the rank “User” to a VRChat Account, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

This rank can also be obtained by buying VRChat+ as a New User

New User

Every player that has played VRChat for more than 12 – 24 hours in-game, And now allows you to upload content, the rank color is blue and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, and Upload Avatars.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 10 friends and have 0 – 12 hours in-game or migrating your Steam/Oculus/Viveport account with the rank “New User” to a VRChat Account, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

This rank can also be obtained by buying VRChat+ as a Visitor

Visitor

This rank is the starting rank, the rank that you are automatically given at the beginning of the game, the rank color is white and has no ability’s

This rank is automatically given to you once you create and verify your VRChat Account or given automatically by joining the game on Steam/Oculus/Viveport.

Nuisance

Most people that are very toxic or bad in the VRChat community that are visitors will get De-Ranked to this rank, the rank color is white and they have their Mic and Avatars Automatically off

The way to obtain this rank is to be a complete Nuisance to the community, but you will not be able to rank back up because you are locked at the lowest rank.

Late 2018 – Early 2019

Now we can get into the V2 ranking system that has 5 Rising Ranks, 1 Starting Rank and 0 Falling Ranks.

Veteran User

This rank is given to lucky trusted users that have played VRChat for a really long time, thats why they are called Veterans, the rank color is yellow and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Hide your rank to User Visually, Report Worlds, Report Users, Report Avatars, and Call Admins.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 500 friends and have over 1500+ hours in-game, but you have to be manually put into Veteran User by an admin.

Trusted User

This is the highest obtainable rank by playing the game but not the highest rank in VRChat, the rank color is purple and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Hide your rank to User Visually, Report Worlds, Report Users, Report Avatars, and Call Admins.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 250 friends and have 500 – 1500+ hours in-game, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

Known User

When you reach this rank you get a new ability allowing you to hide your rank visually to user, the rank color is orange and lets you have the ability to Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Hide your rank to User Visually, Report Worlds, and Report Users.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 100 friends and have 250 – 500 hours in-game, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

User

Visitor

This rank is the starting rank, the rank that you are automatically given at the beginning of the game, the rank color is white and has no ability’s

This rank is automatically given to you once you join the world of VRChat.

Mid 2017 – Late 2018

And now the basic, V1 Ranking System that was released in Mid 2017 and has 2 Rising Ranks.

User

This rank is the highest rank in the V1 ranking system and finally gives you the ability to report worlds, avatars, and users, the rank color is green and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, Upload Avatars, Report Worlds, Report Avatars, and Report Users.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 25 friends and have 50 – 250 hours in-game, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

New User

Every player that has played VRChat for more than 12 hours in-game has this rank, This rank now allows you to upload content, the rank color is blue and lets you have the ability to: Upload Worlds, and Upload Avatars.

The way to obtain this rank is to at least have more than 10 friends and have 0 – 12 hours in-game, this can take longer if you are blocked, vote-kicked, or muted.

Visitor

This rank is the starting rank, the rank that you are automatically given at the beginning of the game, the rank color is white and has no ability’s

This rank is automatically given to you once you join the world of VRChat.

Special Ranks

This section is all about the special ranks, the ones that are unobtainable or were removed from the game entirely.

VRChat Team

This rank is obtained by being an employee of VRChat, this rank can be revoked if you are no longer working for VRChat, the rank color is red and has the ability to: Upload Content, Manage others Content, Ban Users, Kick Users, Report Content, Rank/De-Rank Users, Etc.

This rank is still obtainable in the current version of VRChat.

Veteran User

This rank is obtained by being specially ranked by a VRChat Staff Member, the rank color is yellow and has the ability to: Upload Content, Report Content, Report Users, and Call Admins.

This is the second highest rank any non-admin can obtain, you must be a trusted user, and have over 1500+ hours on your account to receive this rank by an admin.

This rank no longer exists and can no longer be obtained in the latest version of VRChat.

Legendary User

This rank is obtained by being specially ranked by a VRChat Staff Member, the rank color is pink and has the ability to: Upload Content, Report Content, Report Users, Call Admins, and have Vote-Kick priority.

This is the highest rank any non-admin can obtain, you must be a veteran user, and have no bans on your VRChat account to receive this rank by an admin.

This rank no longer exists and can no longer be obtained in the latest version of VRChat.

Community Ambassador

This rank is obtained by being specially ranked by a VRChat Staff Member, the color is unknown and has the ability to: Upload Content, Report Content, Report Users, Call Admins, have Vote-Kick priority, and other features that are unknown.

This is a unknown rank, meaning that there is no extra info about this rank, the only information about it is that it was added and removed in a day.

This rank no longer exists and can no longer be obtained in the latest version of VRChat.

Admin (Old)

This rank is obtained by being an employee of VRChat, this rank can be revoked if you are no longer working for VRChat, the rank color is unknown and has the ability to: Upload Content, Manage others Content, Ban Users, Kick Users, and Report Content.

This rank existed to admins around 2014, and was removed when VRChat’s official release on steam in 2017, you could only get it by applying directly with the employers.

This rank no longer exists and can no longer be obtained in the latest version of VRChat.
