Time is the most precious resource in The Blood of Dawnwalker — you only get 30 days, and the main story alone eats up to 10 of them. Before the Mass kicks off, I found three side quests in Laslea Glen that cost zero time segments: Dead Drop (cemetery, up the hill right of your home), Enter Not (abandoned plague house across the river, left of your home), and If a Tree Falls in a Forest (north of the village, following a trail of dead soldiers). Complete all three before the main event for free loot — a Mysterious Letter, a ring, coins, a Figurine of St. Jude, experience, and a common sword that’s better than your starter.
Why Zero Time Cost Quests Matter
Here’s the thing about The Blood of Dawnwalker: time doesn’t just pass. It’s a currency you spend on quests, intel, and skill upgrades. With only 30 days total and roughly 20 available for side content if you want to save your family in time, every free quest is a win.
Side content in the game totals about 30 days of activity. That means to experience everything, you’d need roughly 40 days — which requires save reloading. So finding quests that don’t touch your time budget? That’s pure profit.
The three quests below are all in Laslea Glen, your starting area, and can be wrapped up before the Mass. None of them consume a single time segment.
Dead Drop: Following the Rune Trail
Location: Not far from your home. Travel a little to the right and up the hill. The road leads to the cemetery.
To trigger this one, find a certain ancient grave near the cemetery entrance. Here’s the full path I took:
- Inspect the ancient grave.
- Turn on your vision with the right mouse button and follow the steps.
- Find a stump with ancient runes. Inspect the bark.
- Follow the steps further to another tree with another symbol.
- Continue until you reach a huge stump with another rune (same symbol).
- Inspect it to find a pile of loot.
- Loot the pile.

The reward: a Mysterious Letter, a ring, and some coins. Quest complete, zero time spent.
Enter Not: The Plague House Confession
Location: On the other side of the village, directly to the left from your home. Cross the river and the forest to find an abandoned home where something bad happened.

This one’s about a plague house and a final wish. The steps:
- Investigate the grapes.
- Investigate the graves — buried in unconsecrated ground.
- Enter the house through the roof. There’s no other way in.
- Investigate the martin’s den — that explains the noise.
- Loot the box to find a note.
- Find skeletons on the bed. One skeleton holds a Figurine of St. Jude and a letter.

- Take the figurine and letter. The letter is a confession — the woman’s last wish was to return the figurine to the church.
- Travel to the church. The main entrance is usually protected by soldiers.
- Find the father at the altar.
- Give the figurine to the father. He says he will destroy it along with other false saints.

Quest complete. Reward: a little bit of experience.
If a Tree Falls in a Forest: Following the Footprints
Location: Further north from the Enter Not quest location. Travel north from the village.

This quest starts with a dead soldier and ends with a report to the elder. Here’s how it goes:
- Find a huge tree that crushed a soldier.
- Investigate the huge footprints.
- Follow the footprints. Find an empty scabbard — he dropped a weapon.
- Continue. Find another soldier who smashed his head on a rock — tripped on roots.
- Find a dropped shield. There’s a common sword nearby, slightly better than your starting sword.
- Find a third soldier, dead without shoes on the road.
- Read the note from Captain Bahumil — soldiers on patrol were sent to investigate weird activity.
- Inform the elder, located near the tavern.
- Tell the elder about the dead soldiers. He says he will talk to Bris’s men.
- Quest complete.

Tip: Visiting this location during the night may reveal more answers. Worth a second trip if you have time to spare later.
