There is a secret boss in Minecraft Dungeons II that most players never see. I only found it after hunting down a set of hidden talismans. This guide shows you where to unlock the boss and collect all 9 secret talismans along the way.
Here is the short version: you need 8 talismans to open the gate. Three are in The Overworld, 3 come from Dungeons and Rifts, and 2 are in The Sift. Once you have them, the gate opens and you can walk in to fight Mosstrosity.

The Hidden Door Location
The door sits just above the Hidden Grove. Head up and to the right until you spot a ledge, then keep going right. You will find an elevation that slowly rises. Follow it up, then turn left to reach the door.

Before you have all the talismans, a gate blocks your entry. Do not waste time trying to force it. Once the gate is gone, you can enter freely. If you are not sure you are in the right place, look for that rising slope, it is the easiest landmark to confirm.
The Overworld Talismans
Three talismans are spread across the Overworld regions. I suggest marking these on your map as you go, because the distances between them can eat up a lot of travel time.
| Talisman | Region | Location Details |
|---|---|---|
| Amethyst Lens | Howling Woods | North of Little Howl Hamlet, and west of the Hidden Grove minecart station. |
| Thrifty Pendant | Rainy Plains | Just under Puddle Pond. Pass the first bridge you unlock, then take a left at the first bridge you unlock. You should see a stone pathway leading to a chest. |
| Lucky Clover | Frozen Highland | Just above the Frozen Fortress. |
The Lucky Clover needs a bit more work than the other two. To reach the higher section, go up at the center area and pass through that area. Once you are up there, turn right and head to the spot shown in the guide. Position yourself toward the middle of the opening in the wall, then walk off the opening and land on the platform. Walk up to the wood and an interact prompt should appear. That reveals a piston jump. After you land, the chest appears right in front of you.
The Sift Talismans
Two of the eight talismans are in The Sift. These two are tied to specific regions, so keep an eye on your map markers.
Medallion of Momentum is in the Humbler Huskland region, north of the Echo Den. Follow the pathway upward until you reach the section shown in the guide. It should look like a dungeon entrance structure. Head to the left of that dungeon entrance into a hidden cave on the left. Continue deeper into the cave and you will walk straight into the gold chest.
Emerald of Good Fortune is in the Lullaby Hills region, right at the region entrance. Once you are there, take a left onto one of the pipes. Keep descending by jumping from pipe to pipe. Be careful near the bottom, because enemies wait down there. Clear any remaining enemies once you hit the ground, and the chest is yours. To get out, either press the button to call a platform or just fast travel to a minecart station.
Dungeons and Rifts Talismans
These last three are luck dependent. You need a specific room or generation to spawn before you can grab them. I had to run a few dungeons before the right layout appeared, so be patient and keep checking.
Ocelot Paw is found within Rifts. You need to find a secret wall. It is fully random, similar to the flask, so keep an eye out for odd-looking flat wall surfaces. There will be an interact prompt to let you know if it is a fake wall.
Soul Chip is found within Sift Dungeons. This one also requires a bit of luck for the correct generation. What you are looking for is a set of jump pads, specifically one where you get bounced off one pad and then bounced to a second one that flings you to an area. Walk up to the platform there and the hidden chest will appear.
Glowstone Flask is found within Overworld Dungeons. Find an area or room with 4 lit fireplace-looking objects. Interact with all four and part of the floor should open. The secret talisman is inside the chest that appears.
Fighting Mosstrosity
Once you have all eight talismans, the gate is gone. You can enter the Lush Caves where the secret boss waits.

The area is not very big. It is mainly a corridor that leads to the arena where you fight Mosstrosity. After you win, the boss drops a chest. Open it and you receive the final talisman of the game, Wonderful Wheat.
With the Wonderful Wheat in hand, you now have all the current secret talismans in Minecraft Dungeons II as of when I wrote this guide. If you are working toward full completion, this is a solid one to cross off, and it pairs well with any other achievements guide route you are following.
