Bad Endings

1. “The Noose Trap” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After Evgeny comes home, an air raid siren starts outside with an invasion underway. He falls into depression with a headache and decides that life is going down a crooked path. He feels he has already ruined his life both in Shadrinsk and Uralgrad. In the end, the protagonist chooses to isolate himself from the outside world.

2. “Happiness in the Heavens” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After the protagonist enters his home, an alarm begins outside. He falls into depression with a headache and decides to take pills supplied by a neighbor. He then decides to listen to music and distract himself from the situation outside (where war is already raging). The pills take effect, and he goes outside, staring at the sky with birds and hearing the voices of fallen soldiers. Eventually, he falls from the balcony onto the asphalt.

3. “In the Fog of the Mind” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After the protagonist saves Vera from the Ural bad guys during a punk concert, he invites her to his place to fix her face since she got roughed up. The system called “Aggressor” activates, and since no one except high-ranking officials knows about the blocker, the protagonist kills Vera and becomes a bloody killing machine, similar to what happened at the institute.

4. “Black Sun” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: According to Mamaev and Feduleev’s plan, the “Aggressor” system is supposed to activate in Uralgrad, and they are supposed to be saved by “blockers.” However, sabotage occurs, and a bloody day unfolds in the bunker. Mamaev and Feduleev are killed, while Galtsev, Isaev, the protagonist, and his partner hide in an office. Galtsev administers a forbidden injection, Isaev and Evgeny’s partner are killed. The protagonist goes outside and sees that the city is empty. Evgeny realizes this was all inevitable, that everything was heading toward this… And that’s the end.

5. “The Third Way” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: This is essentially the same as the “Black Sun” ending, but the protagonist starts to reflect that this whole nightmare is his doing and talks about similar things. And that’s it.

6. “The Price of Loyalty” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After Egorov throws a flashbang grenade, the rebels fight back against the SSKP. When reinforcements arrive in armored vehicles, the special forces are pushed back. All survivors are taken prisoner by the communists, who want to hold a trial. However, the trial turns into a lynching, and the protagonist is killed by the rebelling citizens.

7. “Redemption” (Bad Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After the rebellion, the protagonist catches Phoenix, who sends him to the soldiers. The protagonist is put in a “prison” (a shopping mall converted into a Guantanamo-style facility, because democracy is questionable). He is sent for interrogation by the Captain, and no matter which option we choose, we end up with a bullet in the back of the head.

Normal/Relatively Good Endings

8. “The Rise” (Relatively Good Ending)

  • Brief Summary: The protagonist decides to escape from the shopping mall together with everyone else. Outside, they are met by a boss-BRDM (armored vehicle) that shoots at the escapees. The protagonist decides to help everyone by blocking the driver’s view with his body. Everyone eventually escapes in trucks. The end.

9. “Law and Order” (Relatively Good Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After the assault on the factory and the fight with the fascist, the protagonist is sent to the hospital. However, he ignores the doctor’s warnings and continues working for the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result, he dies from a seizure on the steps of the building.

Positive Ending

10. “In the Rays of the Sun” (Very Good Ending)

  • Brief Summary: After the assault on the factory and the fight with the fascist, the protagonist is sent to the hospital, where he is told, “That’s it, no more police work for you.” The protagonist decides to focus on his health, goes to Crimea with Vera (the same one from the third ending), and they fall in love. They take custody of the daughter of a deceased friend.
