The normal way to obtain them is to read all the associated lore and upon reading the last entry, you get a quest with a clue on the location of said boost.
The damage bonus are permanent and apply over all NG+ so even if you find it after beating the Boss, you’ll still get to benefit from it when you fight them again in further NG.

To get the 6 different damage bonus vs ??? (you’ll have to play the game to see who that refers to) you need to select each boss’ burden, beat their Prime form, and then read their entire prime lore (golden memories).
Upon reading the last one, you’ll be granted the damage bonus directly.
