The Sims™ 4: Steam Deck Files Location (including DLC files)

Here is a guide on locating the hidden file directories of the Sims 4 on your Steam Deck! Useful for modding and free DLC files if you know where to look!!

Default File Locations

These will be parallel to the Windows version, as the Steam Deck creates virtual C drives for these games.
Please make sure you Enable Hidden Folders in Dolphin, otherwise you won’t be able to see these locations!

Sims 4 Default Location

Steam Files

home\deck\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4

Documents Files

/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/
Sims 4 Mod Install Location
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/

You can put your mod files here as per usual. Make sure to enable modded content inside of the Sims 4 options if you have not already.

Sims 4 Origin Location
home\deck\.steam\steam\steamapps\compatdata\1222670\pfx\drive_c\Program Files (x86)\Origin

Transfering Files

If you already have the DLC and the Unlocker on your PC and want to transfer the files to save some time, you can do so easily by downloading Winpinator on Windows [winpinator.swisz.cz] , and Warpinator on your Deck via the Discover Store. Launch both on the same network and you should be able to easily transfer the files.

OR! Use AnyDesk by downloading AnyDesk on your Deck from the Discover Store, and on your PC. This tool will also allow you to remote control your deck with your PC, making it easier if you don’t have a keyboard and mouse for your deck.

Alternatively you can download these files directly to your Deck from the internet or a thumbdrive.

Sims 4 DLC Modding

If you’ve used the EA DLC Unlocker on PC before, you’ll know it’s pretty simple. Just put the DLC files in The Sims 4 folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4, then run setup.bat from the EA DLC Unlocker.

With the Steam Deck it’s a little bit more hands on, but it will work.

Sims 4 DLC Install Location

Please make sure you have Show Hidden Files enabled in Dolphin

Please put all the DLC files (not the Unlocker) here:

home/deck\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4

This is where all the games main files are, so just put the EP’s,GP’s and SP’s here.
