Palworld 1.0: How to Get Toxin Filtering Membrane

The Toxin Filtering Membrane is one of the most valuable crafting components in Palworld 1.0, but its source is anything but obvious. This guide walks you through the only reliable route to obtain this item: the Wildlife Tree boss fight area on the north side of the map. You will learn the exact cave entrance coordinates, a safe approach to the boss encounter, and how to exploit the zero-cooldown respawn system to farm multiple membranes in a single session. No guesswork, no wasted time.

Overview

Your objective is to acquire the Toxin Filtering Membrane, an item that drops exclusively from the BOSS Dandilord inside the Wildlife Tree biome. This boss area is located within a cave system on the northern edge of the map. The membrane is a critical resource for end-game crafting, including advanced armor and equipment upgrades. Without it, you cannot progress to the highest tier of protection against environmental hazards.

Steps

Travel to the Wildlife Tree biome on the north side of the map. The cave entrance is marked by a distinctive rock formation near coordinates that place you directly north of the central map marker. Look for a narrow opening between two large stone pillars.

Equip your best Pal Sphere, a shield, a weapon, and a ring that prevents accidental creature defeat. Enter the boss fight area inside the cave. The boss creature will be immediately visible upon entering.

Reduce the boss creature’s health to exactly 1 HP. This requires careful weapon management — switch to lower-damage attacks as the health bar nears depletion. Once the creature is at minimal health, throw a Pal Sphere to capture it. The Toxin Filtering Membrane will be added to your inventory upon successful capture. Alternatively, you can defeat the creature outright to receive the drop, but capturing is strongly recommended due to the creature’s rarity.

After obtaining the membrane, exit the boss area and re-enter immediately. There is no cooldown on this encounter. You can repeat the entire sequence — reduce health, capture or defeat, collect membrane, exit, re-enter — as many times as you wish. This allows you to stack multiple membranes in a single farming run.

Tips & Troubleshooting

The boss creature is a rare spawn, so capturing it is always preferable to defeating it. A captured creature can be used, bred, or traded, while a defeated one is gone forever. Use a high-level Pal Sphere with a capture rate bonus to maximize success.

Since there is no cooldown on the boss fight, you can farm membranes continuously. Plan your inventory space accordingly — each run consumes one Pal Sphere and yields one membrane. Bring at least ten Pal Spheres if you intend to farm a full stack.

Surviving the boss fight requires preparation. Bring at least five high-quality healing items, such as Advanced Medical Supplies or cooked food with regeneration effects. Equip your strongest combat Pal, preferably one with resistance to the boss’s attack type. A shield with at least 500 durability is recommended to absorb the initial burst damage.

If you accidentally defeat the creature instead of capturing it, the membrane still drops. Do not panic. Simply pick it up and re-enter for the next attempt. The only loss is the opportunity to capture the creature itself.

Toxin Filtering Membrane Uses and Value

The Toxin Filtering Membrane can be recycled into World Tree Resources and Rare Items at an Ancient Relic Recycler. This is one of the most efficient ways to farm World Tree materials, as you always receive the three main construction components without needing to explore dangerous biomes. Simply farm Ancient Relics, then wait inside your base while the recycler processes them.

Beyond World Tree materials, the recycler also yields other useful end-game schematics and components. This makes the Toxin Filtering Membrane farm a valuable rotation activity even when you do not immediately need World Tree resources. The membrane itself is also a direct crafting component for the Hazard Suit and other high-tier protective gear, making it a priority target for any player approaching the end-game content.
