Palworld 1.0: How to Find Mimog, Elgrove Cryst, Eidrolon, and Ophydia

The Palworld 1.0 update dropped 72 new Pals into the world, and four of them are causing the most confusion among players. Mimog looks like a loot box but will flee if you get too close. Elgrove Cryst spawns in a frozen hellscape where you’ll freeze solid without the right gear. Eidrolon and Ophydia are boss-tier creatures locked to a single floating island with no second chances. This guide tells you exactly where to stand, what to equip, and which sphere to throw for each one.

Overview: New Pal Locations in Palworld 1.0

The four new Pals are spread across three distinct biomes. Mimog is the easiest to reach early, hiding in the Walnut Tree biome as a disguised box. Elgrove Cryst requires cold-resistant armor and a trip to the World Tree’s icy regions. Eidrolon and Ophydia share the floating island, but on opposite sides. You will need a flying mount for both — Jetragon is the safest option for chasing down runners.

None of these Pals spawn in dungeons or events. Every location is a fixed overworld spawn point. If you clear an area and nothing appears, log out and back in to reset the spawns.

Mimog — Location and Capture

Mimog (Paldex #144) spawns as a box prop inside the Walnut Tree biome. It can appear anywhere in this zone, but the densest concentration is around the central grove where the tree trunks are thickest. You will also find Mimog in normal biomes occasionally, but the Walnut Tree area is the only reliable farming spot.

The catch method is unusual. Mimog will flee if you approach on foot. Equip a ring before engaging — this prevents you from accidentally defeating it with a weapon swing. Use an enchanted sphere for the first throw. Do not get close. Shoot it from maximum range, then throw the sphere immediately.

If Mimog escapes, it will bolt across the map. Mount a Jetragon and chase it until it stops running. It will freeze in place again after a few seconds. Repeat the capture attempt. The ring stays equipped, so you only need to worry about sphere count.

Elgrove Cryst — Location and Capture

Elgrove Cryst spawns exclusively in the icy area of the World Tree biome. It appears in both the southern and northern sections of this frozen zone. Most Elgrove Cryst are above level 70, so do not attempt this hunt until you have decent armor and spheres.

Before you leave base, equip cold-resistant armor. The freezing environment drains your health continuously without it. Even with the armor, keep a stack of heat packs or a fire Pal in your party for safety.

Use an ancient sphere or a solosphere for the capture. Bring Elgrove Cryst’s health to one bar, then throw. The catch rate on these spheres is not guaranteed, so carry at least five. If you run out, the nearest respawn point is a long flight back.

Eidrolon — Location and Capture

Eidrolon is a boss creature found only on the floating island. Its exact spawn point is on the southern edge of the island, near a cluster of floating rocks. You cannot miss it — the creature is larger than most Pals and has a distinct glowing aura.

Wear the ring before engaging. Eidrolon hits hard, and one stray critical can kill it if you are not careful. Use a soul sphere or an enchanted sphere for the best catch chance. Bring its health to one bar, then throw.

The floating island has no fast travel points. If you die or fail the capture, you must fly back from the nearest tower. Stock up on spheres and healing items before you go.

Ophydia — Location and Capture

Ophydia (Paldex #175) is also exclusive to the floating island, but on the south side, left area. Players call it the blossom dragon because of its flower-like appearance. Ophydia has only two skills and no habitat outside this single zone.

Equip the ring again. Ophydia is not as aggressive as Eidrolon, but it can still kill itself on your attacks if you are not careful. Use a solar sphere or an enchanted sphere. Bring its health to one bar, then throw.

Ophydia does not flee like Mimog, so you can take your time positioning. But the floating island is small, and other high-level Pals patrol the area. Clear the nearby spawns first to avoid interference during the capture.
