The “Get Shiny” achievement—also listed in your trophy log as “Big Makeover”—is the kind of secret that most players stumble past without even realizing it exists. It’s buried in a pitch-black tunnel system under the map, requires a prerequisite you might not have completed, and the payoff is cosmetic freedom: every color in the game becomes free to use on yourself and your friends. This guide walks you through the entire process, from the Yellow Lighthouse prerequisite to standing in the secret room where Shiny spawns.
Achievement Overview
Before you even think about the tunnels, you need to unlock them. The prerequisite is completing the Yellow Lighthouse, located in the northern part of the map, by activating the red totems along its path. Do that once, and the underground tower tunnel system opens up permanently for your save file.
Here’s what you’re working with:
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Achievement Name | Get Shiny (a.k.a. Big Makeover) |
| Difficulty | High (hidden path, pitch-black tunnels) |
| Prerequisite | Complete Yellow Lighthouse via red totems |
| Time to Complete | 15–25 minutes after prerequisite |
| Reward | All colors become free to apply |
The Blue Lighthouse is your best entry point. It’s the easiest access to the tunnels, and the doors there drop you straight into the system. Bring your light source—the game provides one, but you need to actually use it.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Follow these steps in order. Missing one means backtracking through dark tunnels, which is nobody’s idea of fun.
- Complete the Yellow Lighthouse (northern map) by taking the red totems. This unlocks the tunnel system. If you haven’t done this, nothing else below will work.
- Travel to the Blue Lighthouse. It’s the most convenient access point for the underground tunnels.

- Enter the tunnels through the doors at the Blue Lighthouse. The tunnels are completely pitch black—activate your light source before you go in.

- Immediately head into the blue tunnel system. Don’t wander; stay on the blue path.
- Head left toward the green pipe location. This is your first landmark. The green pipe is visible before you reach it, so keep your eyes up.

- Turn right, immediately drop down, and head right again through the tunnel system. This section leads into a mix-match of different tunnel colors. It’s disorienting, but the path is linear here.
- Head left until you reach the green tunnels. Do not go the other way—you may fall. Keep going straight once you’re on the green path.
Warning: The drop in step 6 is easy to miss. If you run past it, you’ll hit a dead end. Back up and look for the opening at floor level.
- You’ll know you’re on the right path when you reach a bridge with multiple colors. Cross it as normal. This is the most visually distinct landmark in the entire tunnel run.

- From the red zigzag upstairs, drop all the way down to the tunnel system below. This is a controlled fall—no damage, just a long drop.
- You’ll reach the secret location. Shiny is here. Grab it.

The entire run takes about 10 minutes if you know where you’re going. The first time, expect to double that—the darkness and identical tunnel sections make it easy to lose your bearings.
Using Shiny
Once you have Shiny, the achievement completes immediately. But the real value is what it unlocks: every color that was previously locked behind progression or collectibles is now free to use.
- Open your color palette
- Apply any color to yourself or your friends
- The achievement pops the moment you obtain Shiny—no extra step needed
That’s it. The “Big Makeover” part of the achievement name refers to the cosmetic freedom you now have. Paint yourself neon green. Paint your friend magenta. The game doesn’t care.
Tip: You don’t need to use the colors to trigger the achievement. Picking up Shiny is the trigger. Coloring is just the reward.
The hardest part of this achievement isn’t the path—it’s knowing the path exists. Now you do. Go get shiny.
