The Elder Scrolls Online: Beginners’ Guide to Classes & Roles

In this guide I’ll recommend diffrent classes to playing diffrent roles.(remember that any class can play any role, but some of them aren’t as good as others, and when I say that a class is bad at smt it still can be fun and effective).

All classes strenghts and weaknesses:

-DRAGONKNIGHT:
Worst class at healing but kinda ok at magic DD(damage dealer). One of the best classes for tanking. Also pretty goot for stamina DD.
-SORCERER:
Very good at magic DD, slightly worse at stamina DD. Sorc can be a good tank because of self-healing, but he kinda lacks at healing others, therefore not the greatest healer.
-NIGHTBLADE:
Nightblade can be really good at everything, from both DD, to tanking and siphoning enemy healt. The only problem with him is the skill level, especially if you’re going for tank/healel because if you want to heal, you have to attack enemies while making sure to refresh your skills, therefore (for beginners) I don’t recommend choosing high blade, unless you’re going for DD witch is kinda simple and effective.
-TEMPLAR:
Templar, like nightblade is good at every role, but is easier to learn. From good DD and tanking to being one of the best classes for healing, because templar has every ability that a healer should have (removing harmful effects, restoring magic and stamina to allies ect.). Personally, I recommend this class the most because of how simple abilities are and because you can be effective at any role.
-WARDEN ( DLC class that has to be bought):
Warden is a complicated but powerful class. Extremely good DD, tank and healer. I don’t recommend warden as your first character, but if you know some game mecanics I definitely recommend trying him out.
-NECROMANCER ( DLC class that has to be bought):
Necromancer is one of the best classes in the game but very hard to be good at. His main mecanic are corpses that are created from fallen enemies allies and some of his skills, that he can consume in many different ways to benefit them (increasing damage done, healing ect.). Managing corpses during battle can be very hard, and that’s why necromancer is the worst for beginners, but just like warden, if you like the game and want to explore more if it then you should check necromancer.

Overall recommendation for roles, from best to worst:

-TANK:
Necromancer, Warden, Dragonknight, Nightblade, Templar, Sorcerer
-HEALER:
Templar, Necromancer, Warden, Nightblade, Sorcerer, Dragonknight
-DAMAGE DEALER:
-stamina/physical damage:
Necromancer, Waarden, Nightblade, Templar, Dragonknight, Sorcerer
-magicka/magic damage:
Sorcerer, Warden, Necromancer, Nightblade, Templar, Dragonknight
