The Palworld 1.0 update introduced three new Ignis-type variants, and finding them is not a matter of wandering the main map. This guide pinpoints exactly where to find Petallia Ignis, Knocklem Ignis, and Whalaska Ignis in Palworld 1.0, along with the spheres and level requirements you need to capture them. Each of these fire-aligned Pals is locked behind specific biomes and capture conditions, and wasting time in the wrong area will yield nothing but frustration.
Overview: New Ignis Variants in Palworld 1.0
The three new Ignis-type Pals — Petallia Ignis, Knocklem Ignis, and Whalaska Ignis — are exclusive to special biomes that are not part of the standard overworld. You cannot stumble upon them while exploring the main map. Each requires a specific sphere type and a minimum player level to even attempt capture. Understanding the biome structure is the first step to success.
- Petallia Ignis: Paldex #89B, Old Tree Biome (waterfall), requires Enchant Sphere or Solhere.
- Knocklem Ignis: Woodland Tree Biome (under mountain), Transport 7, Mining 7, also on main map.
- Whalaska Ignis: World Tree Biome, level 70+ required, Cooling 6, Kindling 5.
Petallia Ignis Location & Capture
Petallia Ignis is found inside the Old Tree Biome, also referred to in some sources as the Wlet Tree biome. Its spawn point is concentrated around a waterfall area within this zone. Do not waste time searching the main map — it is not there.

The critical detail for capturing Petallia Ignis is the sphere type. You must use an Enchant Sphere or a Solhere. An Oatic Sphere will not work, and attempting to use one will result in a failed capture. Equip a sphere that prevents defeating the Pal, as Petallia Ignis has a relatively low health pool and can be accidentally knocked out. Its Paldex number is 89B.
Knocklem Ignis Location & Capture

Knocklem Ignis is located inside the Woodland Tree Biome. It spawns commonly under a mountain in this zone — not above it. If you are scanning the peaks, you are in the wrong spot. Descend into the lower terrain and search the shaded areas beneath rock formations.

To capture Knocklem Ignis, bring a strong weapon. It has Transport level 7 and Mining level 7, making it a valuable work Pal if you can secure it. Unlike the other two Ignis variants, Knocklem Ignis also has a secondary spawn location on the main map in a specific area down below. However, the primary and most reliable location remains the Woodland Tree Biome. Use a sphere that prevents defeating the Pal to avoid losing the capture opportunity.
Whalaska Ignis Location & Capture

Whalaska Ignis is found inside the World Tree Biome. This is the most restrictive of the three locations: you must be above level 70 to enter this area. If you are below that threshold, the biome will not be accessible, and you will need to grind experience before attempting.

Once inside, use the strongest sphere available in your inventory. Whalaska Ignis has Cooling level 6 and Kindling level 5, making it a dual-purpose utility Pal for base operations. It spawns commonly within the World Tree Biome and, like Petallia Ignis, cannot be found on the main map. Do not search elsewhere.
Summary of Key Data
For quick reference, here are the essential stats and locations for all three Ignis variants:
- Petallia Ignis: Paldex #89B, Old Tree Biome (waterfall), requires Enchant Sphere or Solhere.
- Knocklem Ignis: Woodland Tree Biome (under mountain), Transport 7, Mining 7, also on main map in a specific area.
- Whalaska Ignis: World Tree Biome, player level 70+ required, Cooling 6, Kindling 5.
All three Ignis variants are exclusive to special biomes and not on the main map, with the exception of Knocklem Ignis, which has a secondary main map spawn. Plan your sphere inventory and level progression accordingly before setting out.
