Enshrouded Crafting Guide: How to Make a Forge, Glider, Hook, and Other Items

In the world of Enshrouded, a robust crafting system is integral for survival and base-building. This guide will help you create essential items like armor, weapons, gliders, and a hook.

How to Create and Upgrade the Flame Altar

The Flame Altar is essential for base construction in Enshrouded. To build it, you need 5 units of stone and an open area. You can even place the altar within the Veil territory.

As you progress, you might need to upgrade the altar. Approach it and select the appropriate menu option to see the required resources. If you want to set up another altar at a remote location, you’ll need to strengthen the flame using specific resources. To dismantle an altar, select “Extinguish Flame.”

How to Find the Blacksmith

After placing your first Flame Altar, the quest “Find the sleeping survivor” becomes available. Follow the map marker to free the Blacksmith.

In the designated area, two enemies await, but you can stealthily deal with them using the “Stealth” ability.

Another enemy is in the Ancient’s Hideout, where the Blacksmith hides. After defeating them, interact with the glowing capsule to make the Blacksmith available for summoning at your shelter. Craft a Summoning Staff (handcrafted from sticks) and use it at your base to summon him.

How to Build a Workbench

The Workbench is crafted by hand, so you need to find the necessary resources:

  • Rope (3);
  • Logs (8).

It’s useful for repairing worn-out equipment and creating building blocks.

How to Make a Bed

A bed is crucial for comfortable rest. You can use beds found in the open world or make them yourself using the workbench. Required resources for a Rough Mattress:

  • Plant Fiber (4);
  • Rope (3);
  • Torn Fabric (4).

After building a rough mattress, you unlock the recipe for a Rough Wooden Bed:

  • Animal Fur (4);
  • Rope (4);
  • Logs (4);
  • Rough Mattress (1).

How to Build a Storage Chest

Since your character’s inventory is limited, you need storage chests in your shelter. Initially, you can build tiny or small chests:

  • Nails (6);
  • Logs (6).

Several small chests should suffice to unload your inventory and store accumulated resources. Each chest holds up to 24 items.

How to Make a Hook

A hook is necessary for exploring the open world and various dungeons. Without it, you can’t complete certain dungeons or climb tower summits. Build a workbench and gather these resources:

  • Scrap Metal (4);
  • Rope (7);
  • Veil Spores (10).

Keep at least one hook in your inventory. To save space, open the “Character” tab and place the tool in the designated slot. Although it disappears from the inventory, you can use it anytime by aiming at the object you want to hook onto and pressing the “E” key.

How to Build a Charcoal Kiln

After rescuing the Blacksmith, you can start building a charcoal kiln. Summon him at your shelter and interact to see the recipe and required resources:

  • Stone (20).

Place the kiln wherever it is convenient.

How to Build a Forge

Like the charcoal kiln, the forge becomes available after saving the Blacksmith. Resources needed:

  • Stone (30);
  • Scrap Metal (10);
  • Charcoal (10);
  • Logs (12).

How to Craft Weapons

Blueprints for primitive weapons are available early in the game with the necessary resources:

  • Shield;
  • Club;
  • Bow;
  • Wooden Arrow.

More powerful weapons can only be crafted with the Blacksmith at your shelter. Initially, several blueprints are available:

  • Rough Sword;
  • Spiked Club;
  • Shield of Valor.

First, create a shield as it helps avoid damage from many enemies. You can also obtain rough stone shields from defeated enemies in the Veil. Stronger weapons can be found in the open world by inspecting chests or after battling bosses in “wells.”

How to Craft Armor

Initially, you can craft rags for basic protection. Serious defense is lacking, so it’s better to gather resources and create a shield for blocking enemy attacks.

Blueprints for proper armor become available after rescuing and summoning the Blacksmith. If you have a charcoal kiln and forge, you can craft metal sheets and start making Beginner’s Fighter Armor, which has much higher stats than Fur Armor.

How to Create a Glider

The glider is a key tool in the game as it greatly facilitates movement across the open world. Required resources:

  • Veil Wood;
  • Animal Fur;
  • Rope;
  • Veil Spores.

If you’re unable to obtain a specific resource, refer to the corresponding link for guidance.
