Starting Out (Level 1 – 10)

Palworld Beginner’s Guide: Getting Started and Base Building
Welcome to Palworld, where the journey to become the ultimate Pal Rancher begins! Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate your first steps, establish a strong base, and make the most out of your Pal collection.Choosing Your Starting Location
When embarking on your Palworld adventure, you’ll likely have the option to select a starting location, especially on multiplayer servers. For an optimal beginning, we recommend choosing the Plateau of Beginnings as your initial base site.

Proximity Matters
As you start your journey, it’s crucial to set up your base near your starting point. Palworld introduces raids, and these raids become more challenging the farther you venture out. Establishing your base close to the starting area provides a strategic advantage in fending off raids effectively.

Follow the Tutorial for a Solid Start
Navigate through the in-game tutorial, as it guides you through essential mechanics and tasks. Following the tutorial will quickly bring you close to level 8, setting a strong foundation for your Palworld experience.

Skipping Optional Items
Certain items may be skipped initially, either because superior technology becomes available at higher levels or because they are of lesser importance. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Old Bow
  • Repair Kit
  • Common Shield
  • Hanging Trap
  • Fire Bow
  • Fire Arrow
  • Wooden Living Room Furniture Set
  • Mounted Torch
  • Wooden Tavern Furniture Set
  • Sign
  • Bat
  • Poison Bow
  • Poison Arrow
  • Wooden Tavern Cabinet Furniture Set
  • Tropical Outfit
  • Tundra Outfit
  • Sandbag
  • Bear Trap (Small)

Building a Functional Base
Once you’ve reached a point where you can establish your base, ensure it includes basic Pals covering various capabilities:

  • Water (e.g., Pengullet, Fuack)
  • Planting (e.g., Tanzee, Gumoss)
  • Gathering (e.g., Cattiva, Tanzee, Daedream, Chikipi)
  • Handiwork (e.g., Lamball, Cattiva, Pengullet, Fuack, Tanzee)
  • Transporting (e.g., Lamball, Cattiva, Pengullet, Fuack, Tanzee)

Create a Berry Plantation and install a Feedbox to automate the feeding process for your Pals using the aforementioned capabilities.

Pal Spheres and Diverse Pal Collection
Utilize your time wisely by crafting Pal Spheres and capturing a variety of Pals. Focus on catching Daedream during the night and Cattiva during the day. Diversifying your Pal collection early on is essential for a well-rounded team.

Leveling Up to 10
With a solid foundation in place, you should swiftly reach level 10. Allocate your stat points to weight and stamina to enhance your efficiency and endurance during various activities.

Embark on your Palworld journey with these tips, and soon you’ll be on your way to becoming a formidable Pal Rancher!

Progressing (Level 11 – 20)

Palworld Advanced Guide: Gearing Up and Party Optimization
Welcome to the advanced stages of Palworld, where leveling slows down, and strategic decisions become crucial. Gear up, assemble the right Pals, and get ready for more challenging adventures with this comprehensive guide.Adapting to Slower Leveling
As you progress, you’ll notice that leveling becomes a more deliberate process. It’s time to shift your focus towards gearing up and selecting the optimal Pals for both your base and party.

Daedreams Dominate the Party
Maximize your combat efficiency by filling your entire party with Daedreams. Crafting the Daedream Collar at level 8 enables these Pals to fight alongside you without taking damage. This significantly speeds up your combat experience and facilitates easier boss battles.

Cattivas: Versatile Base Pals
For base construction, Cattivas are recommended for beginners due to their versatile capabilities. Their adaptability makes them valuable assets as you build and expand your base.

Selective Item Skipping
Certain items can be skipped for now, either because superior technology awaits at higher levels or because they are of lesser importance. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Wooden Gate
  • Lifmunk’s Submachine Gun
  • Houseplant Set
  • Meat Cleaver (questionable usefulness)
  • Training Dummy
  • Antique Storage Set
  • Fire Arrow Crossbow
  • Fireplace Set
  • Carpet Set
  • Antique Chair Set
  • Wooden Defensive Wall Set

Comprehensive Base Capabilities
Ensure your base is equipped with Pals covering all 11 capabilities (excluding Generating Electricity).
Consider incorporating Vixy, as they can generate Pal Spheres when assigned to a Ranch, enhancing your resource production.

Chillet and Mega Spheres: A Winning Combination
After acquiring a few Mega Spheres, challenge and catch the elusive Chillet. Be cautious not to accidentally defeat it, as it respawns after an hour. The Chillet, combined with Daedreams in your party, prepares you for facing the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate.

Conquering the Tower
Engage in Tower battles once you have a Chillet and Daedreams in your party. The Chillet’s freezing ability provides a tactical advantage. Dodge enemy attacks, retrieve and redeploy your Chillet strategically, and utilize ranged weapons for efficient boss fights. Use the available pillars for cover during intense encounters.

Continued Exploration and Pal Collection
As you progress, spend time exploring the world and capturing more Pals. This guide will resume with further insights in future updates.

Gear up, strategize, and conquer Palworld’s challenges with confidence!

Mid-Game (Level 21 – 40)

Palworld Mid-Game Guide: Navigating the Tedious Grind to Endgame
Congratulations on reaching the mid-game phase in Palworld! As you venture into this stage, be prepared for a challenging grind as leveling becomes more demanding, and progression gradually slows down.Efficient Nitewing Exploration
By now, you should have acquired a Nitewing and unlocked its mount skill. Leverage this powerful companion to streamline your exploration and collection efforts. The Nitewing’s mobility allows you to easily locate and gather effigies scattered throughout the entire map. To optimize this process, consider using the interactive map[mapgenie.io] for efficient effigy tracking.

Lifmunk Effigies and Catch Rate Boost
Dedicate a significant portion of your time to collecting Lifmunk Effigies, a crucial resource that significantly enhances your catch rate. Utilize the interactive map[mapgenie.io] to pinpoint their locations and amass a substantial supply. Additionally, seize any opportunities to collect eggs and treasure chests during your exploration, ensuring you incubate the eggs when feasible.

Alpha Pals and Ancient Civilisation Parts
While traversing the map, prioritize farming and capturing Alpha Pals. These unique Pals yield Ancient Civilisation Parts, essential for your progression. Accumulate these parts and channel your efforts into constructing multiple incubators. Given the prolonged incubation times for certain eggs, having multiple incubators becomes a strategic necessity.

Legendary Cloth Armor Schematic Awareness
During your exploration and chest openings, you might chance upon legendary cloth armor schematics. Exercise caution with crafting these items, as they demand Ancient Civilisation Parts to repair and may not provide significant benefits. Evaluate the cost-benefit ratio carefully before investing resources in crafting these armor pieces.

Dazzi Dominate the Party
Earlier, you had Daedreams dominating your party. Now, we will switch them up to Dazzi. Crafting the Dazzi’s Necklace at level 22 enables these Pals to fight alongside you. This will replace the Daedreams in your team.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Focus on incubating eggs to bolster your Pal collection efficiently.
  • Prioritize the construction of incubators using the Ancient Civilisation Parts.
  • Exercise discretion when encountering legendary cloth armor schematics, considering their cost and benefits.
  • Continue capturing Alpha Pals to secure additional Ancient Civilisation Parts.

Pals for Base

  • Tombat, useful for mining and works through the night
  • Lunaris, useful for handiwork
  • Ragnarhawk, useful for fire related tasks
  • Flambe, drops flame organs as ranch drops
  • Dinossum, useful for lumbering
  • Pen King, great all rounder

End-Game (Level 41 – 50)

Palworld End-Game Guide: Mastering the Final Grind
Congratulations, Pal Rancher! You’ve reached the pinnacle of Palworld, the end-game. In this phase, the grind becomes more challenging, but fear not—this guide will help you navigate the final stages with finesse and efficiency.Leveling alternatives
By now you would have experience the difficulty of even leveling a single bit. If you haven’t, you should at least ensure that you have caught 10x of each Pal, which include Alpha Pals. Look through your Paldeck and make sure that you have done so. This process can take quite a while especially for rarer Pals, hence we suggest building more incubators and hatching more eggs for this process to be quicker.

As of current, pals in the towers can also be caught. The way to do this is to get the Wanted status by fighting a guard, and this will get the police on you. While the police is chasing you, fast travel to the tower of your choice and go in. At this point, position yourself so that the tower boss is in between you and the police. Do not do any damage and let the police do the shooting. Once the police have shot the boss, you can now throw a Pal sphere at the back of the boss.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: Should I join a guild? What are the pros and cons?
A: When you join a guild in Palworld, your base level will be changed to be equal to the Guild Leader’s base level. If your level is higher, this could mean that you may end up downgrading in level in order to match the Guild Leader’s base level, and vice versa. If you already have a base, do note that you will lose your base if you join a Guild that doesn’t have enough capacity for a second base. Second base is unlocked when the base level is 10. To be able to keep your base, do make sure that that the Guild Leader’s base level is at least level 10, and have capacity for one more base.Q: What happen to my Pals when I join a guild?
A: Your Pals in your Palbox will remain in your Palbox, same for those in your party. However, those in the same guild will have full complete access to the working Pals assigned to your base.

Q: Is there an interactive map for Palworld?
A: Yes, you may check out this particular interactive map: https://mapgenie.io/palworld

Q: I can’t seem to join my friend’s dedicated server that is password protected. I can’t find it on the community server list either.
A: There is a limitation within the server list, preventing it from displaying all available community servers. This can be particularly challenging for players attempting to join password-protected servers, as they are required to continually refresh the server list until the desired server appears. To address this issue, we recommend alternative methods for server access.

Instead of relying solely on the server list, players can utilize the recent server list or directly input the server’s IP address in the dedicated bar. If encountering difficulties in locating a server, especially when connecting with friends, an effective solution involves sharing a specific file path.

To make your server easily accessible to others, follow these steps:

  1. Have someone who has successfully connected to the server share the following file: “C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\UserOption.sav”.
  2. Distribute this file to other players.
  3. Instruct each player to place the shared file in the same directory: %localappdata%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames.
  4. Alternatively, players can reach this directory by pressing the Windows button + R, typing %localappdata%, and navigating to Pal, Saved, SaveGames.
  5. Once the file is in place, launch the game, and the server will appear in the recent server list.
  6. By adopting these alternative methods and sharing the UserOption.sav file, players can overcome the limitations of the server list and easily connect to their desired servers.
  1. Join any random community server that is password protected
  2. Enter the password for the server you intended to join
  3. When prompted, press No
  4. Directly connect to the server you intend to join by IP

Q: Can I move my base?
A: Yes you can, but it is a hassle. With that being said, we recommend you getting your base level to 10 first so that you can have 2 bases, making your moving process much easier. The general process of moving your base goes something like this:

  1. Setup a second Palbox at your new location, create a couple of chests right beside the Palbox, and teleport back to your original base.
  2. Manually deconstruct your builds in your original base.Do not dismantle your Palbox at this point yet.
  3. Slowly move your items to the chests in your new location
  4. Once everything has been moved completely, you can now dismantle your old Palbox.

Q: My raids are insanely difficult, help!
A: Raid difficulties are calculated based on the distance of your base to the starting location as well as the level of your base. If you aren’t ready, focus on leveling your character and gearing up instead of leveling your base. Raids also only start when you are in your base, so to avoid getting raids, avoid AFK-ing in your base.

Community Provided Tips

These are some of the tips which players have suggested:

  • Do not see your base as ‘static’ and do not be afraid to dismantle buildings. You will get 100% of the building materials back when you disassemble a structure.
  • Some of the tech can be skipped as you will find a better replacement at higher levels (which aren’t hard to reach)
  • If you are looking for all rounder pals to work at your base, the progression goes from Tanzee > Robinquills > Verdash. Personally, I do not recommend using an all rounder pal to work at your base once you progress to the mid-game as specialised pals are much better in terms of the benefits they provide.
